After a resounding win for St Helens on Thursday night, three more Super League fixtures take place on Friday evening, including a repeat of last year’s Grand Final, which is the match which will get the televised attention.
There are two other matches on a night where the battle to stay above the drop zone could take stronger shape on what promises to be a testing evening for rugby league given the weather conditions sweeping the country. We begin our preview with the TV match.
Warrington Wolves vs Wigan Warriors
It is the Grand Final repeat that takes centre stage on Friday evening when the Warrington Wolves will be looking to get revenge for defeat at Old Trafford when they host Wigan Warriors in a pretty high profile contest.
The Wolves have begun this campaign very strongly and have only lost one match so far while Wigan have been the exact opposite and have only won one match in the entire campaign so the form is certainly with the Wolves. Usually I wouldn’t trust Warrington in a big match as far as I could throw them but Wigan have got plenty of issues so I’ll take the home side to cover 10pts here.
Leeds Rhinos vs London Broncos
Wigan Warriors aren’t the only big side who have laboured out of the starting gate this season as the Leeds Rhinos have done likewise. They host the London Broncos, who with two wins to their name already have been solid and have a platform to build on.
Both of London’s wins have come at home, where I suspect the bulk of their wins will come, but Leeds completely bombed out at home to Wakefield recently so asking them to cover 16pts is a big ask here given their lack of form and confidence. St Helens are the best team in the competition and they only put 26pts on London. London may well lose this match but I’ll back them to stay within that 16pts.

Hull FC vs Wakefield Trinity
The other match on the evening comes from the KCOM where Hull FC will look to build on three successive wins when they host Yorkshire rivals Wakefield Trinity, who themselves are beginning to tick along after a struggle at the start of the campaign.
Hull FC are in good form in terms of their results but they haven’t beaten anything in that run. Wakefield are always a dangerous outfit but they can blow hot and cold at the best of times so I’m not so sure this is the best of matches to get stuck into. As a result I’ll sit this one out and stick with the bets on the other two matches.
