The international break continues with another bunch of matches on Saturday, with those groups that haven’t featured so far this week getting their first outing, as we continue to head towards the business stage in most sections.
We’ve seen some great football this weekend already and plenty more is expected on Saturday on a day where the likes of Spain, Italy and Denmark take to the pitch to try to boost their qualifying hopes.
Group D
There are a couple of matches in Group D on Saturday afternoon with a huge clash being among them. Second placed Denmark host third placed Switzerland in a big match for both sides. That match will be even bigger should the Republic of Ireland pile the pressure on the pair of them earlier in the day. They head across Europe to face Georgia in the first match to kick off on the day with a win taking them to the brink of qualifying.
Group F
Spain are the team in control of things out in Group F and they will look to maintain their 100% record when they make the trip to face a Norway side who are much improved and dangerous. Sweden and Romania are fighting with Norway for that second spot and they are both on the road to minnows on Saturday night. Romania take on the Faroe Islands while Sweden have a trip to Malta to negotiate.
Group J
This is another group where there is a decent tussle for second spot developing. Italy have a perfect record in their qualifying campaign to date and they will be expected to keep that intact when they host a Greece side who have disappointed thus far. Two sides in that battle for second spot are Bosnia and Herzegovina and Finland and they battle it out in the early kick off in the group. Armenia have quietly got into contention themselves and if they are to stay there they need to beat Liechtenstein when they travel there in the other match.
Betting
We’re having a good week in the Euro 2020 qualifiers and I’m hoping that continues with two bets over the course of Saturday with the first coming in one of the 5pm kick offs where I like Romania to feast on the Faroe Islands. A couple of years ago the Faroe Islands looked to be one of the improving minnows but they have reverted to type now and are really struggling again. The same can’t be said of Romania. They are enjoying a good campaign and if they are going to push on and qualify they know this is a match they have to win. All of a sudden there are goals in this Romania side. They have scored 13 in their six matches in qualifying and they should have a big win in them against a Faroes side leaking 3.33 goals a game in this group.
Staying in the same group and I fancy goals will come naturally when Norway take on Spain. Norway have the chutes of a really good side with an attacking trio of Josh King, Erling Braut Haland and Martin Odegaard and I expect them to take it to Spain. That might not be the best strategy in terms of helping their defence though and Spain might not be what they were but they certainly still have the class to pick apart an open side. This should be a good game to watch and I like over 2.5 goals in it at a very acceptable price.
