We have three more matches in the Premier League to entertain us on Sunday on a day where the title could finally be in the hands of Manchester City even though they are not kicking a ball in anger at any stage of proceedings.
The battle to avoid the drop and the race for the top four form the main talking points on Sunday on a day where once again the matches come one after the other and will all be shown live on TV in the UK.

The action begins at St James’ Park where Newcastle United might think they are already safe but still need a few points to confirm it. They might well have the chance to pick them up against an Arsenal side for whom the Premier League campaign has been something of a write off and whose focus will surely be overturning their Europa League deficit in midweek rather than pulling out all the stops to come out on top in this one.
The big match of the afternoon is the middle game where the champions of last season, Liverpool, could confirm Manchester City as the winners this season when they head to Old Trafford to face rivals Manchester United. The Red Devils have to win to extend their hopes of winning the title or in reality denying City from winning it for another week. The action concludes in the capital where Tottenham Hotspur look to remain relevant in the top four race when they host Sheffield United.
Betting
I was tempted to back Newcastle United to see off Arsenal but whenever I’ve watched the Toon in recent times Joe Willock has had a major part in their success and he is unavailable here against his parent club. I was also thinking of taking on Man Utd after a tough game on Thursday night but despite that they have still only lost one match in the Premier League since November so I’m not sure that is a value play. That leaves the last match where I do like a bet.
That bet comes in the form of over 2.5 goals in the match between Tottenham Hotspur and Sheffield United. Tottenham have to win this match but they don’t just have to win it they have to look good in doing it otherwise the decision to get rid of Jose Mourinho without having someone lined up would look stupid. Sheffield United have nothing to lose now. Their aim between now and the rest of the season is to have a go and try and find some confidence to take into the Championship next term so I’m expecting a pretty open match here. Spurs have the firepower to score the three goals that we need here but Sheffield United might be more dangerous than they have been previously this term. I like the over here.
