Big Matches

The televised action comes right from the beginning of the evening on Saturday and it begins in the Eastern Conference as the improving CF Montreal take on the currently winless FC Cincinnati before the action switches to the Western Conference for the high profile clash from Providence Park between Portland Timbers and LA Galaxy. The attention then switches back to the Eastern Conference as Chicago Fire look to end a lengthy losing run when they take on Inter Miami. Once they are done the champions are back on show when Columbus Crew head to the Big Apple to take on New York City FC. The final TV game comes from the Western Conference where high fliers San Jose Earthquakes and Sporting Kansas City meet at PayPal Park.

Best of the Rest

Five matches take place away from the spotlight of UK cameras and the first of those sees Orlando City hosting Toronto FC in a clash between two of the better sides in the Eastern Conference. The current leaders of the Eastern Conference are also in action on Sunday night when the New England Revolution host the New York Red Bulls. The other three matches all come from the Western Conference where FC Dallas take on Real Salt Lake, Houston Dynamo host the Vancouver Whitecaps and Los Angeles FC go up against the Colorado Rapids.

Betting

This isn’t the easiest card to bet on with a lot of short priced favourites who either aren’t convincing as much as I’d like or should win but might not cover a respective handicap. That means I am keeping betting at a premium on Saturday but there are Sunday matches to come so that is no bad thing. I’ll go with one over the course of Saturday evening which comes in one of the live games as Chicago Fire host Inter Miami at Soldier Field.

These two sides are no strangers to conceding goals so I like over 2.75 goals here. Only FC Cincinnati have conceded more goals than the 10 that Chicago Fire have let in this season but having leaked nine themselves, Inter Miami aren’t too far behind in the concession department. Chicago Fire haven’t scored in their last three matches but they do have goals in them and I expect them to put that right over the course of this match. Miami have got plenty of goals in them with Gonzalo Higuain beginning to show all his class. Both sides will probably go looking for the win here so I am happy to be on over 2.75 given how open these defences have been.
