There is another exciting Sunday of action to look forward to for Week 13 of the NFL 2021 season and with the end of the regular campaign looming on the horizon for a number of teams on show it is a big day.
As always on a Sunday those of us in the UK have a couple of TV matches to look forward to and enjoy. Those wanting regular updates on all the matches can get them via the Red Zone programme and certain bookmakers show the other games.
1pm Kick Offs (6pm UK time)
The televised match over this side of the pond on Sunday evening sees two young quarterbacks looking to lead their teams into a playoff run battling it out when Joe Burrow and his Cincinnati Bengals play host to the Los Angeles Chargers and Justin Herbert. Both teams are in competitive divisions so they will not want to lose. Six other matches take place at this time with three of them being divisional battles. One of those sees the Atlanta Falcons hosting the champions Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC South while the Detroit Lions look for their first win against the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North. The other one is important in the AFC South where the Indianapolis Colts continue their push to win the division when they go to the Houston Texans.
Of the other three matches there is one which has plenty of significance as the current best team in the NFC are on show when the Arizona Cardinals come out of their bye week with a trip to the Chicago Bears. The other two games carry little in the way of immediate relevance when the Miami Dolphins take on the New York Giants while the New York Jets face a Philadelphia Eagles team who just can’t seem to find any consistency.

4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (9.05/9.25pm UK time)
The televised match in the second slot of games on Sunday sees the huge rivalry in the AFC North renewed when the Pittsburgh Steelers play host to the current leaders of the division in the Baltimore Ravens in a clash which rarely disappoints and isn’t likely to here either. Of the three other matches that take place in the later slot there is one more divisional clash as the Seattle Seahawks go up against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC West.
Two other matches fill up the early games on this Sunday and both see teams who need to get their campaigns back on track after indifferent spells when the Las Vegas Raiders, fresh from their overtime win on Thanksgiving, host the Washington Football Team who have suddenly given themselves a chance of extending their season with a winning burst. Los Angeles Rams are in a real hole at the minute and their home match against the Jacksonville Jaguars is simply a must win game.
Betting
I’ll go with the one bet on Sunday which comes in the TV game in the earlier of the two slots in the UK when the Cincinnati Bengals play host to the Los Angeles Chargers as two teams who have promising quarterbacks and potent offenses meet in a match where I expect the points to come along pretty regularly. I say that because both sides have shown a proficiency to attack rather than rely on their defence to win matches.
I’ve mentioned in recent weeks how the Los Angeles Chargers seem to get involved in these crazy shootouts even though they don’t always need to and this could very well be another of them. That is because at least one team has scored more than 30 points in the last six Cincinnati matches so they either pile the points onto their opponents or get overwhelmed themselves. This is a match neither can afford to lose in the chase for their respective divisions so I expect the points to come pretty regularly in this one.
