The final day of the Premier League season has arrived with the last 10 matches of what has been a crazy campaign all taking place on Sunday afternoon, when the title, the final Champions League spot and the last relegation place will all be decided.
Usually on a final day of the season there isn’t a huge amount to still be decided but that isn’t the case this year. With that in mind, three of the 10 matches will be live on TV in the UK and a couple of stations are showing goals as they go in from elsewhere.
The final day fixtures are as follows: (All 4pm UK – UK TV in brackets)
Arsenal v Everton
Brentford v Leeds United (Sky Football)
Brighton & Hove Albion v West Ham United
Burnley v Newcastle United
Chelsea v Watford
Crystal Palace v Manchester United
Leicester City v Southampton
Liverpool v Wolverhampton Wanderers (Sky Premier League)
Manchester City v Aston Villa (Sky Main Event)
Norwich City v Tottenham Hotspur

Big Matches
All eyes will be on the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon to see if Manchester City can get the three points they need to win the league. They play host to Aston Villa who should be the perfect opponents having only played on Thursday evening. If City slip up it opens the door to Liverpool. They need to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield and hope that Manchester City don’t win in order to regain the Premier League title. The other televised match comes from the other end of the table where Leeds United have to better the result of Burnley to stay up. Leeds travel to Brentford.
Best of the Rest
Burnley have put their destiny in their own hands when they play host to Newcastle United. If they win that game they will be a Premier League team next season. Anything else leaves the door open for Leeds United to overtake them. The other thing to sort out on the final day is who finishes fourth. Tottenham Hotspur will secure it if they can win at already relegated Norwich City. If they lose then they will open the door to their rivals Arsenal. The Gunners have to beat Everton at the Emirates Stadium and then hope Norwich do them a favour. Elsewhere, Ralf Rangnick takes charge of Manchester United for the final time when they go to Crystal Palace while Roy Hodgson brings his managerial career to a close when his Watford side make the trip to Chelsea.
Betting
I’ll go with one bet on the final day and it comes in the important match in London where there simply has to be goals in the match between Brentford and Leeds United purely because of the situation that Leeds are in. There is a chance that Leeds can draw the match and stay up but realistically they’ve got to be looking at winning the game. The only problem with that is they don’t look like they are capable of keeping a clean sheet let alone actually doing it.
That means in order to win this game Leeds are likely to need to score at least twice so they are going to have to be as open and expansive as they have been at any stage of the season. The problem is the longer this season has gone on the better Brentford have got and even though they are playing for nothing, I’m sure they would love to consign Leeds to the Championship given that they battled out promotion together for a couple of seasons prior to Leeds going up. Brentford are averaging two goals a game for the last 10 matches. I expect these two to combine for more than three goals in what has all the makings of being a ridiculously wacky game of football.
