The Royal London One Day Cup continues on Friday when seven matches take place across the two groups up and down the country. For some counties this will be the penultimate game of the group phase while for others it will be the third to last. Either way, there is plenty on them.
We have the Test match and The Hundred continuing on Friday so the only way to follow watch these matches if you are not going to a game is the live stream that the home county provides. They are perfectly good enough though.
Group A
The leaders Leicestershire aren’t in action on Friday so Sussex have the chance to go to the top of the table. They head to Taunton to take on a Somerset side who saw their qualifying hopes ended a while ago. The teams in third and fourth meet at Radlett in what is a huge game with only the top three progressing from each group. That sees Middlesex hosting Warwickshire in a significant match in the competition. Gloucestershire are stalking the top three and they’ll look to take closer order to them when they head to the capital to take on a Surrey side who are clinging onto qualification hopes by a thread.

Group B
Hampshire have the chance to seal a place in the next stage of the competition on Friday when they head over to Neath to take on the current champions Glamorgan who know their title defence won’t go beyond the group stage. Lancashire begin the day in second place in the table when they head to the seaside to take on a Northamptonshire side who are also already out at Blackpool. Essex have powered into qualifying contention and will look to enhance those hopes when they go to New Road to take on Worcestershire while in the other match Yorkshire in fourth head to Kent in fifth in a match neither can afford to lose.
Betting
We’re at that stage of the competition where the teams who need to win are priced up a lot shorter than usual but finding a team who doesn’t need to win to back isn’t particularly easy so I’ll keep my powder dry on the match betting front but there is a side market bet which jumps out at me and that comes in the form of the runs in the match between Middlesex and Warwickshire at Radlett, a ground which has been high scoring throughout the season.
Both these teams have been in great form with the bat and given that they have both lost the majority of their bowling attack to The Hundred I don’t see any reason why the runs will suddenly dry up now. London did get battered by rain on Wednesday but the north of the capital got hit the least so I doubt too much of it would have got into the outfield so this should be another run fest. There have been 600 or more runs in both matches here in this competition while Middlesex have scored over 330 in four of their five outings with the one time they didn’t they were 271/1 with more than eight overs to spare when they reached a target. Warwickshire have only really failed with the bat once and that was against the leaders Leicestershire so everything points to runs in this match and more than 564.5 of them.
