The knockout stages of the Royal London One Day Cup begins on Friday when the two quarter finals take place as Hampshire and Sussex will find out who they will face in the last four of the 50 over competition next week.
Even though we are in the latter stages of this competition, with the Test match and The Hundred ongoing at the same time we will only be able to watch the two quarter finals via the live stream offered up by the home county.
Leicestershire vs Kent
The team that finished second in Group A in Leicestershire will play host to the third placed side in Group B in Kent at Grace Road in what is one of the biggest matches the home outfit have played in quite a while as they look to set up a 50 over semi-final with Hampshire on Tuesday.
The Foxes have been one of the best teams in the competition this season with their two overseas players starring throughout. They have both of them in place for this game and having played what was effectively a knockout match and come through chasing 198 against Durham when they were 60/6 they will be confident of any situation. Kent also came from a mile back in a knockout game in their final group match when they chased down 299 to beat Lancashire and fell to 53/4. That will mean both teams think they can win this and that is reflected in the odds which are tight. Kent are used to being involved in these big matches having won the Blast last season and that might just swing things there way but there is nothing in this to make me desperate for a bet.

Lancashire vs Nottinghamshire
The pick of the semi-finals is the one which sees the second placed side in Group B in Lancashire hosting the third placed side from Group A in Nottinghamshire at Blackpool with the winners making the long journey to Hove to take on Sussex in the last four.
Lancashire were involved in a right ding dong with Hampshire throughout the group stage in the race for top spot but they came up just short. Having lost out in the Vitality Blast final the Red Rose will be eager to get their hands on this silverware but Nottinghamshire will be equally as motivation after bombing out of the 20 over competition far too early. Both these teams have lost a lot of players to The Hundred but they have shown their squad depth throughout the tournament and I’m expecting an incredibly good quarter final here between two deeply stacked squads. I think the Lancashire bowling attack might just get them over the line but on a small Blackpool ground I expect a high scoring match.
Lancashire hosted Northamptonshire here in the group phase and there were 642 runs and with the way Nottinghamshire are scoring their runs this season there could be just as many here. That match against Northants was a week ago so the pitch should still be in good condition. The top orders of these two sides are scoring well so however this quarter final plays out I think we’ll get more than 583.5 runs on what is a ground not big enough for these two teams.
