Preview

The main TV game sees Sheffield United continuing their quest for promotion when they go up against a Bristol City side who could do with a result themselves having drifted into the bottom half of the table. The other game comes from Kenilworth Road where two teams chasing a place in the top six meet when Luton Town will look to extend a run of just one loss in nine outings when they go up against a Reading side who have been the early surprise packages this season.

Elsewhere, Blackburn Rovers will be looking to go top for 24 hours at least when they head to Coventry City. A Rovers win will do that but Coventry will have other ideas as they need the points to pull away from the drop zone. Middlesbrough are only out of the bottom three on goal difference and they’ll look to strengthen their position when they make the trip to the MKM Stadium to take on Hull City. The other two matches sees Preston North End hosting high flying Swansea City and West Bromwich Albion welcoming Blackpool to The Hawthorns.

Betting

As a general rule Blackpool don’t do low scoring games and I’m not convinced that their trip to The Hawthorns to take on West Bromwich Albion will be any different. The last five Blackpool games have contained at least three goals and you would imagine the Baggies will look to show a little more of their attacking prowess now that Carlos Corberan has had time to assess what he has got and put a plan together to get them firing at the top end of the pitch.

This is a game both teams will feel they can win and in the form of West Brom probably need to win as they sit bottom of the pile a third of the way through the season. Home matches for West Brom have to be treated as winning opportunities. Blackpool play the right way though and will look to go for goals in this one and in the Championship’s leading scorer Jerry Yates they have a man who is on fire at the minute. Whichever end they go in at, I fancy this one will contain more than 2.5 goals.
