Premier League 2023-24 – Saturday 11th November Matches Tips and Betting Preview

We have another split weekend of action in the Premier League to take us into the latest international break with just half of the division playing over the course of an intriguing Saturday afternoon.

As always with a Saturday we have a TV game to open up the action and to conclude it. This week there are just three games in the traditional 3pm slot and updates will be provided in the usual places for those.

Early Kick Off

We begin the day at Molineux where all eyes will be on Tottenham Hotspur to see if they can bounce back from a tough night at the office on Monday evening when they make the trip up the M6 to take on a Wolverhampton Wanderers, who themselves have something to prove after being the first team to lose to Sheffield United this season last week. Spurs will go back to the top of the table for 24 hours at least if they win but injuries are beginning to catch up with them. Wolves have their own injury issues as they look to pull further clear of the bottom three.

3pm Matches

All eyes will very much be on Old Trafford in the traditional 3pm slot when Manchester United are involved one of just three matches to be played at this time. Erik ten Hag’s men will entertain newly promoted Luton Town who head to Old Trafford for the first time in more than 30 years looking to back up their fine result against Liverpool last week. Despite winning last week, Manchester United took one step forward and two back when they were beaten in Copenhagen in midweek and a loss here could have dramatic effects.

The other two matches in the usual slot sees Arsenal looking to move level on points at the top with leaders Manchester City when they welcome a struggling Burnley to the Emirates Stadium in a match the Gunners will be wisely expected to win and win well. The outcome might be less predictable at the other end of the capital where Crystal Palace will look to build on a win over Burnley last week when Everton at the visitors to Selhurst Park.

Late Game

We conclude down on the south coast on Saturday when Newcastle United make the very long journey to take on AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. Bournemouth were hoping that their win over Burnley two weeks ago was the start of a good run of form but Manchester City saw to that last week. Newcastle beat Arsenal last weekend but then came back down to earth when they lost in Dortmund in midweek. Injuries are starting to catch up with the visitors which might well keep the home side interested.

Betting

I’ll go with a couple of bets over the course of the afternoon with the first of those being Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli to score against Burnley. There is a huge void down the right side of the Burnley defence with Connor Roberts so erratic it is untrue. He hasn’t got back in since his red card at Brentford with Vincent Kompany choosing to go with Vitinho there and he is more of a winger than a full-back. That is a recipe of absolute disaster for the Clarets, who won’t exactly have much to offer the other way which could lead to wave after wave of Arsenal pressure. With Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka doubts for this match the Arsenal attention could come more down their left than usual and the Brazilian looks a cracking bet to add to his two goals this season, particularly when you consider that a relatively tame Crystal Palace attack exposed that side of the pitch against Burnley last weekend.

The second bet I like over the course of the afternoon is Luton Town to find the net at Old Trafford. Luton have only failed to score in three games out of the 11 they played this season. They failed to score at Chelsea when they were still working out what this league is all about, hit the post but didn’t score at Fulham and Elijah Adebayo missed an open goal against Tottenham. Luton have scored in every other game including at Brighton and Aston Villa and at home to Liverpool, each of whom are above this Manchester United side in the table. Manchester United have just shipped four in Copenhagen in midweek and have an issue at the heart of the defence with Jonny Evans ruled out of this one. Only Wolves have failed to score at Old Trafford in the Premier League this season and only they know how they didn’t find the back of the net. Luton have found their feet in this division and know there isn’t much to fear here. I think they score regardless of the result.
