The second round of matches in the Super League XXIX season continues on Friday night when two games take place in the competition on a night where four sides get the chance to show their worth for the campaign ahead.
As will be the case throughout this entire season, both matches are live on TV in the UK so on a wet and cold Friday evening there is no reason not to sit back with a couple of devices and enjoy a night of rugby league.
Warrington Wolves vs Hull FC (20.00 – Sky Sports Action)
The main TV coverage on Friday night comes from the Halliwell Jones Stadium where two sides go in search of a first win on the season when the Warrington Wolves welcome a heavily depleted Hull FC side to town.
Both teams lost their opening match of the campaign last weekend. Hull FC were pretty abject in losing to their rivals Hull KR and lost a couple of men to suspension in the course of it, while Warrington went down in France to the Catalans Dragons, a result which is never terrible to be fair to them. You would imagine that Warrington will come out on top here. Tony Smith has had to make a number of changes to his squad for this match with injuries and suspensions seriously impacting it and that has made bookmakers send the handicap lines soaring north of 20 points in the favour of the home side. I expect them to cover that but if Hull FC pop a try on the board then they are going to need more than 30 points to do so, therefore rather than taking the handicap and risk being on the end of some freak plays that moves Hull into double figures, I’ll just take Warrington to put more than 30.5 points on the board. We know that Warrington have a dynamic attacking unit and I suspect the longer this one goes the more dominant they are going to be. We only need five converted tries with a kick on top but I would imagine Warrington will run in a couple more tries than that at least. I like them to get 31 points or more here.

London Broncos vs Catalans Dragons (20.00 – Sky Sports Arena)
The other match on Friday night comes from Plough Lane where the London Broncos play their first home match back in the Super League. The beaten team from the Grand Final last season, Catalans Dragons, are the visitors to the capital.
As was probably expected, London began the season with a fairly heavy loss to St Helens last weekend and things might not get much easier against the French outfit, who have already put a win on the board against a competent looking Warrington Wolves side. One hope London will have, apart from them being at home where they are going to have to perform to the best that they can if they are going to be competition this season, is that Catalans don’t always travel well. Generally though that trend is disappearing a little but the Dragons do have some suspensions to deal with and while we are going through these new laws I do worry for their discipline. I’d expect Catalans to cover an 18 point cap but there isn’t the sort of wiggle room that I’m looking for so I’m happy to leave this one alone.
