Premier League 2024-25 – Sunday 3rd November Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The Premier League weekend continues with a seriously good looking Super Sunday this week as four sides who will be eyeing up a spot in the Champions League next season battle it out for three valuable points in that particular race.

Both of the matches are live on TV for us in the UK to enjoy and with the quality of attacking play that is expected to be on show combined with four potentially gettable defences, we should be in for a decent day of action.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa (14.00 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

The opening match of the double header on Sunday comes from the capital where Tottenham Hotspur will look to build on their midweek Carabao Cup win over Manchester City when they host an Aston Villa side who are in a decent groove right now despite their exit from that competition on Wednesday night.

It would be foolish to think that goals aren’t going to come along in this match. Tottenham are third in the league for xG and are expected to have Heung-min Son back for this encounter while Villa are free scoring and have two dynamite forwards in Ollie Watkins and Jhon Duran not to mention a decent support cast. Both sides have been anything but watertight too. Spurs have conceded 10 goals this season and Villa 11 so goals should come but that is factored into the lines and prices but one statistic which might not be quite where it should be in terms of the line is the corners where we have an 11.5 line. Corners follow Tottenham around and only Manchester City have won more of them this season but Aston Villa aren’t averse to corners themselves. Both teams attack with width and aren’t against shooting from distance which can get deflections or saves which end up going behind. The last two Villa Premier League matches have had 17 and 16 corners while the last two Tottenham ones have had 18 and 16. There were 12 in this fixture last season and it would be a huge surprise if there aren’t another dozen here. I’d prefer the corners over the goals angle here.

Manchester United vs Chelsea (16.30 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

The second match of the afternoon takes us to Old Trafford where we know Ruben Anorim will be taking charge of Manchester United but he won’t be in place for their home match against a Chelsea side who will be out to showcase their top four credentials.

United enjoyed an emphatic win in the Carabao Cup in midweek to get the temporary tenure of Ruud van Nistelrooy up and running but a much changed Leicester City side still managed to have 18 shots against a home defence which contained the majority of their starters and that has to be a concern. We’ve already seen this season that when United go up against a top level attack that they are unable to keep them out. Both Liverpool and Tottenham have been to Old Trafford and scored three times and Chelsea are no weaker in options or goal output so the 4/5 on the Blues to score two or more appeals here. I’m not sure I would trust the Chelsea defence enough to back them to win the game or anything like that but you would expect United to score so if Chelsea are going to win they will probably need to score at least twice. Backing their team total keeps scores like 2-2, or 3-2 or 4-2 United in play. Only Man City have kept Chelsea out in the Premier League this term and I don’t see this Man Utd side doing it. I think a relentless Chelsea side can find the net at least twice in this one.
