The Sky Bet Championship weekend continues on Saturday when the majority of the matches in the latest round of games take place on a day where once again top spot could change hands in this heavily condensed league table.
It is another Saturday where we have three matches on the TV to enjoy before the remainder of the games take place where the updates of those will come along in all of the usual places on a decent looking day of football.
Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (3pm unless stated – UK TV in brackets)
Middlesbrough vs Hull City (12.30pm – Sky Sports+)
Oxford United vs Millwall (12.30pm – Sky Sports+)
Watford vs Queens Park Rangers (12.30pm – Sky Sports Main Event & Sky Sports Football)
Blackburn Rovers vs Leeds United (1.30pm)
Bristol City vs Plymouth Argyle
Coventry City vs Cardiff City
Norwich City vs Luton Town
Preston North End vs West Bromwich Albion
Stoke City vs Burnley
Swansea City vs Portsmouth

Big Matches
The main TV cameras head to Vicarage Road for the clash between a Watford side who will be looking to maintain their spot in the top six of the table when they play host to fellow London outfit Queens Park Rangers who will be eyeing up coming out of the bottom three for the first time in a while with a win. The other TV games see Middlesbrough looking to bounce back from a midweek loss when they host Hull City who begin life without Tim Walter while Oxford United host Millwall in the other game. Leeds United will be looking to move back to the top of the table when they head across the Pennines to take on eighth placed Blackburn Rovers.
Best of the Rest
Six other matches take place in what we would call the traditional 3pm slot with Burnley the highest placed team on show. If Leeds lose earlier in the day then a spot in the top two is open for the Clarets when they head to the Bet365 Stadium to take on Stoke City. Norwich City had an emphatic win in midweek and they will look for successive home wins when Luton Town are the visitors to Carrow Road. That win came against Plymouth Argyle and they head on their travels to take on Bristol City. Portsmouth haven’t played since the international break but they will be hoping to get back to action with a trip to Swansea City on Saturday while Frank Lampard begins life as Coventry City manager with a home match against Cardiff City and Preston North End meet West Bromwich Albion.
Betting
Norwich City go into the round of matches as the joint leading scorers in the Championship and I am expecting them to be involved in another high scoring match when Luton Town make their way to Carrow Road. The Canaries have just put six past a woeful travelling Plymouth Argyle side and it has to be said, Luton aren’t travelling much better having conceded 16 goals in their last five road matches and are now without their best defender in Reece Burke who is out injured.
Rob Edwards seems intent on playing a formation which regularly leaves his Hatters defence exposed on their travels but the flip side of that is generally they do score goals, or create good chances to score at the very least. Norwich have the leading scorer in the division in Borja Sainz in the area of the pitch Luton struggle the most and with their confidence at a fragile ebb the home side could easily score three themselves. Norwich have conceded 25 goals in 17 games this term though and have only kept one clean sheet in 13 so Luton must fancy their chances of scoring. Over 2.5 goals looks a good thing here.
Tips
Back Norwich vs Luton – Over 2.5 goals for a 3/10 stake at 1.80 with William Hill
