Big Matches

The main TV cameras make their way to Deepdale on Saturday afternoon where Leeds United will have the chance to go back to the top of the league for a few hours when they cross into Lancashire to take on Preston North End. The other TV matches see Frank Lampard and his Coventry City outfit play host to struggling Hull City who go in search of a first win under Ruben Selles while Bristol City will look to put another three points on the board when QPR are the visitors to Ashton Gate.

Best of the Rest

Even if Leeds United win earlier in the afternoon, Sheffield United will have the chance to return to the summit when they entertain a Plymouth Argyle side who are horrible on their travels at Bramall Lane. Sunderland are the next highest team on show on Saturday afternoon. They face a lengthy trip to South Wales to take on Swansea City. Blackburn Rovers have now moved into the top five and they will go in search of a sixth win in a row when they host Luton Town while Middlesbrough will look to bounce back from their defeat at Leeds in midweek when they entertain Millwall in what will be the final game in charge for Neil Harris. At the other end of the table Stoke City host Cardiff City in a big game.

Betting

I’m not really one for getting too stuck in at the end of a busy week but there is one bet that I just can’t ignore and that comes at Bramall Lane where we could see something of a mismatch between Sheffield United and Plymouth Argyle. This match pits the best home side in the division up against the worst away side and I don’t see that form line changing here. The handicap is a little on the large side for this stage of the week but I can’t pass up another market.

That comes in the form of Sheffield United to win to nil. The Blades have won 13 matches this season and 12 of those have been without conceding. Every match they have won at Bramall Lane, which is eight in total, have all been without letting a goal in. Plymouth are yet to win on their travels and have picked up just two points from a possible 30 on the road. Worst still, in those 10 matches they have scored just three goals and one of those was in a 6-1 defeat. Morgan Whittaker, Muhamed Tijani and Ibrahim Cissoko are attacking options that are injured for Plymouth which isn’t going to help their scoring chances. Every box looks to be ticked for Sheffield United to win this one without conceding.

Tips

Back Sheffield United to win to nil for a 3/10 stake at 2.00 with William Hill
