ATP Miami Open Tennis 2025 – Day 4 Tips and Betting Preview

The second round of the ATP Miami Open draws to a close around the grounds at the Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday when the top half of the draw is back on show in the latter part of the Sunshine Slam in Florida.

The top seed Alexander Zverev will have watched on as the likes of Daniil Medvedev and Carlos Alcaraz were downed on Friday and he will be eager to ensure he doesn’t go the same way when he headlines the Saturday action.

Stadium

We only have the two matches on the Stadium court on Saturday and they act as the opening games for both sessions. It is the aforementioned top seed Alexander Zverev who will be the star attraction in the day session when he takes on the British qualifier Jacob Fearnley who will be hoping to show his quality against such an opponent. Moving into the night session the popular home star Frances Tiafoe will be on show when he takes on Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in a good looking match.

Grandstand

That allows us to have three matches over on the Grandstand and they are the middle three games on the schedule and good looking ones too. The leading American player Taylor Fritz will grace the court first when he goes up against the energetic Lorenzo Sonego before the man looking to complete the Sunshine Slam begins that quest when the British number one Jack Draper faces Jakub Mensik in his first match since winning the title at Indian Wells. The last match sees two bright stars colliding when Ugo Humbert faces Joao Fonseca in what of what will surely be a huge crowd.

Butch Buchholz

We only have the two matches over on the Butch Buchholz court from the ATP draw and neither of them come along until three women’s games have been completed. When they do it will be Andrey Rublev who will be looking to make progress when he starts his tournament against Zizou Bergs. When they are done the action on this part of the grounds will be concluded by Alex de Minaur. He meets the Chinese player Yunchaokete Bu for a spot in the third round.

Best of the Rest

That all leaves us with plenty more matches on the outside courts throughout the course of Saturday with a couple of entertaining North American stars getting the action up and running on Court 1 where Ben Shelton will be followed by Denis Shapovalov. Holger Rune and Matteo Berrettini are also on show on a top quality schedule on that court which will be rounded off by Arthur Fils. Tomas Machac, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and Alexei Popyrin are also on show on Saturday.

Betting

There were a couple of bets that I was considering over the course of the day but in the end I’ve decided to play it safer and just go with the one I fancy the most which is for Alejandro Davidovich Fokina to come out on top when he takes on Frances Tiafoe on the Stadium court. The Spaniard is having a resurgence this year and has already reached a couple of finals in similar conditions to this whereas Tiafoe is struggling to put wins together this term.

These two met in Acapulco last month where Davidovich Fokina came out on top in three sets and since then Tiafoe has been taken out of Indian Wells by a Japanese qualifier and just doesn’t look his bouncy, confident self. Quite often the biggest opponent to the Spaniard can be himself but he seems calm at the minute, as he should be with the form he is in. Given the opposite directions these two are going in I think it is fair to expect a Davidovich Fokina win here.
