Barclays Premier League – Saturday 28th November Betting Preview

The latest round of Premier League matches comes in two parts this weekend as the Europa League action on Thursday night has meant a number of games are held back until the Sunday.

Despite that there are still six matches on Saturday including the top three in the Barclays Premier League so there should be plenty of decent football on show for us to enjoy.

There isn’t a lunchtime kick off on Saturday so the league begins with five 3pm matches. Aston Villa’s need for a win is already getting pretty desperate. They host Watford while Bournemouth, another side who could do with a win take on Everton.

The other normal time matches sees Alan Pardew up against his former side as Crystal Palace take on Newcastle while Man City host Southampton and Sunderland welcome Stoke to the Stadium of Light. The late game sees the leaders Leicester facing Man Utd at the King Power Stadium.

Although there are only six matches on the card here there is still plenty of betting potential. I’m going to leave the Villa vs Watford game alone. Villa will win soon just based on the law of averages and while Watford appear value I think they are better in matches they are written off in.

I’m also going to leave the Sunderland vs Stoke game alone as well as the late game. I was tempted by Leicester but while United aren’t getting many entertainment awards at the minute they are grounding out results and it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise if they do that again here.

I like the look of goals in the Man City vs Southampton match but the prices are all pretty skinny so even though I’m expecting to see some goals I’ll pass that particular bet by for a couple of juicier prices.

It isn’t all doom and gloom as there are two bets I like in the league. The first is on Everton where we can get quite a juicy level ball bet and that just looks like a totally wrong line to me.

Bournemouth might have stopped the rot against Swansea last week but even then they will have been disappointed to only draw from 2-0 up so that can hardly have done much for their flagging confidence.

Confidence certainly isn’t a problem for the Toffees. They are playing some lovely football at the minute and are bashing up the poorer sides in the division which you would have to say Bournemouth are with all their injuries. I really fancy Everton to win the game but I certainly don’t see them losing it so I’m all over that line.

If Alan Pardew is going to have his Crystal Palace side up for any game this season it will be this one against the club that he used to manage. He might not need to have them too up for this one though as Newcastle look ordinary right now.

They’ve only scored once in their last four matches and while that was a winning goal it was only against Bournemouth and I’m still not convinced by them.

Palace will have been disappointed to lose on Monday night and the way they lost is likely to get a reaction here which is a positive but I just don’t see Newcastle keeping a clean sheet in this match and given their lack of goals that has to be a problem.

This is a match Pardew will want to win and I think his side can expose a very poor Newcastle back line and get the job done with a bit to spare in this one.
