There is one match in the Premier League on Sunday and it comes from Vicarage Road as Watford get the Sunday televised treatment for the first time this season when they host an ever improving Crystal Palace side.
Both sides have started the season well and whoever wins this will finish the afternoon inside the top six in the table so there is a decent incentive for the pair of them.
Watford have only lost once this season and that was away to Man City which it would be harsh to condemn them for. They have looked solid defensively in their last few games while Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo have continued where they left off in the Championship.
Crystal Palace have had a really tough start to the season but have come through that with nine points and will be looking to push on in what are now more comfortable fixtures.
Watford are without their suspended pair of Valon Behrami and Joel Ekstrand for this match as they go in search of three successive top flight wins for the first time since 1987. Adlene Guedioura could start the game if selected.
Crystal Palace could have Joe Ledley back for the game after he has recovered from injury. Dwight Gayle bagged a hat-trick in the Capital One Cup in midweek and that could have forced his way into the side.
Watford are yet to concede a goal at home since they returned to the Premier League but in West Brom, Southampton and Swansea they haven’t played a side renowned for scoring big goals on their travels unlike this Palace side.
Palace have plenty of pace in their side which makes them a real danger especially on the road and as such I think this one will be an open game with some decent attacking football in it.
That leads me to thinking that the 1.89 on there being more than 2.25 goals in the game is perfectly acceptable. Watford have goals in their front two and Palace aren’t all that tight defensively but Palace also have goals in them from a number of areas so this should be the highest scoring game at Vicarage Road so far this season.
