International call ups have seriously hampered the Sydney Sixers in the last few years and it remains to be seen how much they are going to see of the likes of Nathan Lyon, Jackson Bird, Nic Maddinson and Josh Hazlewood in this tournament. Steve Smith and Mitchell Starc have both been pulled out of the tournament due to their international commitments so the Sixers are disadvantaged by that.

They do have a really positive attacking batting line up that should be able to compete in the tournament while Jason Roy and Sam Billings are around but when they leave their resources could be tested to the limit. How their roster steps up to the plate will determine the success of their season.

Betting

I’m a big Jordan Silk fan but he might well bat a little low in the order to be a serious top scoring threat for the Sixers this season but with Jason Roy and Sam Billings leaving halfway through it is definitely a market to target.

Brad Haddin was cruising towards being the top scorer for the Sixers last season before an injury meant he missed their last match and Michael Lumb eventually took that crown but he isn’t around this season. Haddin is likely to open the batting and with Roy and Billings likely to be in the top four it is hard to see their replacements having enough time to catch anyone who flies clear. At 9/2 Haddin looks the value to me.

Doug Bollinger had an excellent 50 over tournament so he will be dangerous in the top bowler market but I like Sean Abbott and Stephen O’Keefe too and they are all priced similarly so there is no value in that market.
