There is one offering in the Big Bash League on Wednesday and it comes from the Gabba as the Brisbane Heat and the Sydney Thunder will look to make up for defeats last time out when they do battle in Queensland.
The Heat were well beaten by the Melbourne Renegades in their previous match while the Thunder were given a good going over by the Adelaide Strikers so neither will want to lose this one else the pressure will be on them.
Brisbane Heat
The Heat began their season in emphatic style with a good win over the Melbourne Stars in their opening match before they let themselves down early on with the bat in their second game against the Renegades. It should be noted that the Renegades have a decent bowling attack but the Heat still batted poorly.
What was encouraging about Brisbane in their defeat to the men in red was the effort they gave with the ball and in fact many sides would have surrendered a lot easier than they did when defending a nothing total. You get the feeling Brisbane are going to play this tournament with freedom whatever the circumstances which is good for us watching on.
Sydney Thunder
It has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for the Sydney Thunder so far in this tournament. Having bowled really well twice and restricted both the Sydney Sixers and the Adelaide Strikers to average totals they did their best to lose to their city rivals before edging over the line and then they produced a shocking batting performance to get well beaten by Adelaide.
The batting needs to improve and they could do with better starts from their opening pair. Jos Buttler is yet to get going in the tournament and you just wonder if they would be better off swapping him and Shane Watson around in the batting line up. If their batting does get firing then they could be dangerous.
Team News
The big news for the Brisbane Heat is that Chris Lynn is expected to make his first start of the campaign. Other lesser news is that Joe Burns returns to the side. He replaces Cameron Gannon in the squad and most likely Marnus Labuschagne in the team.
Callum Ferguson has once again been named in what is an unchanged squad for the Sydney Thunder but the vibes would suggest he is not ready to return from injury anytime soon.

Betting
Whenever matches take place at The Gabba in this tournament I tend to head for the sixes markets and this match is no different. I’m glad I did too because a line of 14.5 sixes looks very much on the low side.
If the Brisbane Heat bat first and get going then this line could be covered by them alone but there is enough hitting power in the Sydney Thunder in the likes of Jos Buttler, Shane Watson and Aiden Blizzard to name some, to suggest they will hit sixes against a largely hittable attack if you take out the leg spinners. We saw 19 sixes in the first match here and 15 more can follow in this one on the best batting wicket in the competition.
