We have a massive clash in the Caribbean Premier League on Saturday night when the surging Jamaica Tallawahs take on the table topping Trinbago Knight Riders in a really juicy looking fixture at Sabina Park.
The Tallawahs win on Friday night means they can move into the top two with a win here while Trinbago will officially win the league stage of the tournament if they come out on top. There is plenty at stake.
Jamaica Tallawahs
The defending champions opened up their home leg of the tournament with a victory on Friday night. They saw off the useless St Lucia Stars but they were made to work a lot harder for the victory than they would have liked. In the end they won comfortably enough but it took a Kumar Sangakkara masterclass to secure it.
Jamaica will know that they are the only side to have beaten the Trinbago Knight Riders this season and that will give them good confidence here as will the fact that despite having to shift players around due to some leaving for international duty and others coming in, they have still managed to remain strong.
Trinbago Knight Riders
Talking of looking strong, that is exactly what the Trinbago Knight Riders look. They have been brutal in most of their matches with the bat and while their bowling hasn’t always performed to the levels that we would have expected it to they have done enough apart from the one blip which they had against Jamaica.
One advantage that Trinbago have is they have not been too unsettled by changing personnel. They had a plan heading into the tournament and they have been able to stick with that plan throughout the duration so far. It will be interesting to see if they change anything to adapt after they were beaten in the reverse meeting.
Team News
Jamaica Tallawahs remain without Shakib-al-Hasan but Mahmudullah is now in place as we saw on Friday evening. They could well be unchanged from that victory.
It would be a surprise if there are too many changes to the Trinbago Knight Riders side. They will want to secure top spot before they start resting anyone with niggles and such like.

Betting
While I am likely to be sounding like a broken record by now I keep on having to maintain that it is hard to back up a performance less than 24hrs after the previous one and that is the thing Jamaica Tallawahs will find themselves having to do here.
I would imagine the Trinbago Knight Riders will be hugely motivated here having lost to the Jamaica Tallawahs earlier in the campaign and also because these two could well meet in the play-offs at some point so they have a chance to lay a marker down in this one. I don’t believe they will pass up that opportunity so I’m on the visitors here.
