CPL 2017 – St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Jamaica Tallawahs Betting Preview

We have the penultimate match of the CPL season at Warner Park on Monday night, and after two rain affected games, all involved will be hoping of a full contest when the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots host the Jamaica Tallawahs, in what is a huge clash in the race for second place.

These two sides are the closest challengers to the Trinbago Knight Riders in the league table and if we accept the leaders are away and gone this could have a huge impact on who they may play in the opening play-off match.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots

The rain in the last game will have really frustrated the Patriots. Judging on the tournament so far they have to think they lost a point in the washout against the St Lucia Stars. It might be that had the game gone to a full conclusion they would have lost but based on what we’ve seen so far, that would appear unlikely.

All of that will be put to bed if they can win this match. St Kitts and Nevis will move three points clear of Jamaica should they come out on top here, and you would think that would be a tough gap to bridge at this stage of the competition. If they lose this one they really will be ruing the rain on Saturday night.

Jamaica Tallawahs

I will be interested to see how the Jamaica Tallawahs go in this match. I say that because they should have been beaten in their last outing but the Guyana Amazon Warriors botched a run chase. That said we shouldn’t forget that this Jamaica side are the only ones to knock off the Trinbago Knight Riders so far.

The bowling attack of the Tallawahs is there for all to see. It is quality in all conditions and while they will go for a few sixes along the way, I would wager they will bowl the most dot balls in the competition because their skill set is vast. Whether their batsmen can back up those skills remains to be seen.

Team News

After only a few overs on Saturday night it is unlikely that there is going to be a change in the St Kitts and Nevis ranks unless there is an illness or injury late on.

I wouldn’t expect any changes to the Jamaica side either unless they want to bring another batsman into the side to add to their depth. That may be unlikely off the back of a win though.

Betting

I keep on maintaining that the wicket here is pure for batting and that the boundaries are very much on the short side and the rain keeps denying me the chance to win money but my thoughts have not changed so given that we are not expected to be rain affected here I will go back to the sixes.

Once again we don’t lack for six hitters in this match and while there will be some good bowling on show many of the players playing here could mishit the ball for six at this ground. I like the idea of there being 14 or more sixes in what I fancy could be a really good match to watch.
