CSA T20 Challenge 2022 – Tuesday 8th February Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The second day of action at the CSA T20 Challenge sees the four teams who didn’t get their campaign underway on Monday doing so on Tuesday when St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth stages another good looking day of cricket.

We saw two decent games with a couple of title contenders on show on Monday and a couple more come to the party on Tuesday where once again we have a morning match and an afternoon clash, both of which are on Free Sports in the UK.

Lions vs North West Dragons (08.00)

The opening match of the day sees the Johannesburg based Lions taking on the North West Dragons in the starter in the competition for both sides. The Lions have a good history in the T20 competitions in South Africa and will be looking to showcase that again here. The Dragons don’t have quite the pedigree but they do have some established players.

I’m keen to watch both these sides, not least because it is unclear how the Lions will line up with some South Africa internationals in their ranks who are away in New Zealand ahead of the Test series. North West Dragons are new to this level of competition so a watching brief is going to be needed on them. It will also give us another chance to assess conditions so I’m happy to leave this one alone, although there are enough match winners in the Dragons’ squad that could make them value here.

Knights vs Dolphins (12.30)

The second match of the day is a repeat of the final from when this competition was held earlier in the season as the victorious on that occasion Knights take on the Dolphins in what should be the best of the matches in the opening round of games.

The Knights won that final by seven runs but both teams will be without a key player from that outing. The Knights have no Rilee Rossouw for this tournament and Sarel Erwee is with the Test squad and not around for the Dolphins. The flip side of that is that the Dolphins will have David Miller in their ranks so their batting probably doesn’t drop off as much as it might have done. That isn’t the case with the Knights so if I was going to pick a winner here I would side with the Dolphins but that would be guessing a bit without having seen either team. The one thing both sides have is plenty of quality with the bat and a fair amount of depth too and on this small ground that can lead to there being more than 10.5 sixes regardless of who comes out on top.
