CSA T20 Challenge 2022 – Wednesday 9th February Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The third day of action at the CSA T20 Challenge sees the second round of group games starting with another double header out at St George’s Park, as the South African domestic competition begins to bubble along nicely.

We saw some good cricket and a little bit of indifferent stiff in the opening two days but with all the teams now up and running for the competition and the cobwebs blown away a bit we should see some decent stuff from here on in. Once again both matches are live on Free Sports in the UK.

Boland Rocks vs Titans (08.00)

The opening match of the play on Wednesday sees the two sides who opened up their season with defeat on Monday battling it out in what is already a crucial match as the Boland Rocks take on the Titans in a game both will be eager to win.

Boland Rocks offered up a performance of a side which needed the run in the opening match. They got a few batsmen in with starts but lacked the T20 qualities needed to get themselves up to an imposing total. They were pretty comfortably beaten in the end. The Titans were much more surprise losers. A team with the likes of Quinton de Kock, Heinrich Klaasen, Tabraiz Shamsi and Lizaad Williams in their ranks will be expected to win this title but that certainly isn’t how it played out in their opening loss to the Warriors. There is a lot of decent spin options in this Titans ranks which I think will be important moving forward but they are plenty should enough for me here. I’m happy to leave this one alone.

Western Province vs Warriors (12.30)

The second match of the day on Wednesday sees two of the winners of the opening set of games battling it out for the earlier leadership of the table when the Western Province take on the Warriors in a good looking clash.

Western Province rode the back of a blitz of an innings by Richard Levi to win their opening match whereas it was a much more all-round team performance from the Warriors in their opening game. You have to respect the quality of the Western Province side with George Linde adding plenty to their ranks from the side who performed in the first one of these this year. That makes me swerve the match betting but I do like the performance of JJ Smuts here. He has a line of 36.5pts for this match and I think he can cover that. In these conditions he is going to bowl his four overs and he’ll bat three and is a decent batter. He was in good form in the first T20 Challenge this season and can continue that here.
