CSA T20 Challenge – Friday 9th December Matches Betting Preview

We’ve reached the crunch stage of the CSA T20 Challenge with the penultimate round of league matches taking place on Friday night and it is a huge evening for three of the four sides in action.

We have two matches on the go on Friday, one in front of the cameras and the other away from the spotlight but both could have massive implications to who goes where in the playoffs next week. We’ll begin our preview with the TV match.

Highveld Lions vs Knights

This is a must win game for the home side against a Knights side who have been out of the competition for a while and really the Highveld Lions should be looking at winning this with the bonus point too. Knights are playing purely for pride in this one.

Both sides going into this match off the back of pretty brutal beatings on Wednesday but you would think motivation alone will ensure the Lions are the ones to come through here. I wouldn’t want to be taking a short price on it though as this isn’t the format for that.

One bet I do like though is for the Lions to hit the most sixes in the match. We saw their six hitting prowess on Wednesday with the likes of van der Dussen, Kendricks, Mosehle, Viljoen and Pretorius among others adept in hitting a long ball.

I’ve mentioned before in this tournament how the Knights are gun shy when it comes to hitting sixes and the Lions won 10-6 in sixes in the reverse meeting. They can win the sixes battle here too.

Warriors vs Cape Cobras

Two sides on the up meet in Port Elizabeth in a huge game. The Warriors will go top ahead of their match with the Titans on Sunday if they win this while the Cobras will remain ahead of the Highveld Lions prior to those two meeting on Sunday should they win.

Both sides are evenly priced with a number of bookies and that is how I see this. If I had to choose a side to back it would be the Cobras but both could be thinking of bigger matches on Sunday so I don’t really want to get involved in this one.
