FIFA World Cup 2022 European Qualifiers – Tuesday 30th March Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The final round of matches in the qualifying competition for the FIFA World Cup 2022 for this particular international break begins on Wednesday when four groups play matchday three, with the teams aiming to strengthen their position in their particular group.

Teams who have made a good start to their group will be looking to extend their position while those who haven’t got off to the beginning they would have wanted will be eager to end this section of matches positively.

Group A

Two matches take place in what is the group that Republic of Ireland are involved in on Tuesday evening. The Irish are the team who will be watching on as Azerbaijan host Serbia in what is the early kick off from this section. The bigger match may well come later in the night when Luxembourg look to build on their win over Ireland when they host a Portugal side who might well be smarting from being hard done by against Serbia on Tuesday.

Group E

Group E is already shaping up to be an interesting section and the three biggest sides are on show in it on Tuesday evening. Belgium are the team expected to come through the section in first place but they haven’t been completely convincing so far. They will be hoping that changes when they host Belarus on Tuesday evening. The big match though might be the other one which could be significant in deciding who the biggest challengers to Belgium will be. That sees Wales hosting Czech Republic.

Group G

The Dutch are another big nation who haven’t been convincing in qualifying yet but they have the chance to lay a bit of a marker down when they head to Gibraltar on Tuesday evening. The interesting match could be the one which sees two emerging sides going at it as Montenegro take on Norway while in the other game in the group Turkey will look to maintain their 100% start to the campaign when they host Latvia.

Group H

The more open group of the lot so far is Group H where the 2018 hosts Russia will be looking to come through. They face a tricky test on Tuesday evening when they make the trip to take on Slovakia. The early kick off comes from Cyprus where Slovenia are the visitors. All eyes may well be on the 2018 finalists Croatia however. Their campaign has not started well so their match at home to Malta is simply a must win encounter.

Betting

Gareth Southgate might not enjoy it but there has been a clear improvement in the Czech Republic over the last nine months and what looked like being a comfortable opponent for England in Euro 2020 suddenly looks like a huge banana skin and they can rubberstamp that fact on Tuesday evening when they head to Cardiff to take on a Wales side who might just be teetering on edge of being past their best years at present.

That isn’t to say Wales are forlorn hopes here but international football tends to be cyclical and the Czech Republic look to be coming into a good cycle, led by the West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek among others. We shouldn’t be surprised at this rise of the Czechs. Slavia Prague are going well in the Europa League this term and a number of this squad represent them so they were always going to be competitive. They walloped Estonia to open up this group and then held Belgium over the weekend. If there is a winner in their battle against Wales I suspect it will be the visitors.
