German Darts Championship – Last 16 Matches Betting Preview

The German Darts Championship concludes on Sunday with the usual bonanza of final day action which sees the tournament played down from the last 16 to the final where the champion will be crowned in the evening session.

The quarter finals onwards will be played in the evening session and due to the usual scheduling restraints we will be unable to provide insights into those matches but we can preview the last 16 and we will do that here.

First Four Matches

The day begins with Justin Pipe taking on Dave Chisnall in a tortoise and the hare type of match before multi-major finalists Mark Webster and Terry Jenkins do battle. There is an all-European clash in the third game of the day when Jelle Klaasen and Cristo Reyes meet before Peter Wright plays Joe Cullen before the break.

Final Four Matches

Ian White has made it to another last 16 and he will face Alan Norris for a place in the quarter final before Kim Huybrechts takes on the man of the moment Steve West. Mensur Suljovic continues his search for another European Tour title when he plays Dave Pallett and the afternoon concludes with Michael van Gerwen facing Daryl Gurney.

Betting

This is a card which has some heavy favourites on it and I wouldn’t necessarily dispute that but I have found one I like in the session and it comes in the Ian White against Alan Norris match where I believe White will be another winning favourite.

Ian White is a quality player who is used to coming through these weekend events and going all the way whereas Norris is just finding his feet in them consistently. One of the reasons why White has a good record in these tournaments and indeed the Players Championship events is his consistency and the fact that there isn’t actually a weakness in his game.

There is a clear and obvious weakness in the game of ‘Chuck’ and that is that he is guilty of missing far too many doubles. It didn’t cost him on Saturday but his opponent wasn’t able to test him in that match. White will and I fancy Norris could crack. White’s leg on leg consistency is something I feel he can use to get himself over the line.

Tips

Back I.White to beat A.Norris for a 4/10 stake at 1.80 with Paddy Power
