We have afternoon and evening racing action in the UK on Friday as we build into another big weekend and of course there is the looming sight of Royal Ascot on the horizon. If that isn’t enough there is the first classic of the campaign over in Ireland too.
There is a lot to enjoy racing wise on Friday so we are splitting our previews into three. The UK evening action and Irish 2000 Guineas will be previewed separately later but for now we are targeting on the English afternoon and picking out one bet. Scroll down to see what it is.

Preview
10 runners go to post for this Class 4 handicap over a trip of 1 mile 3 furlongs. House Edge is a very interesting favourite for Michael Bell, twice raced, winning a novice by 5 length on soft but not seen on the track for 985 days. There must be better value than a horse trying to defy such an absence.
Dreamweaver looks more solid especially after a good campaign last year. However, he’s paid the price for that as his mark has continued to rise and it’s looking high enough for now. At around 3/1, he’s a little short in the market.
Betting
My Boy Sepoy is the one taken to benefit. He was another who had a good campaign last term, winning twice and coming runner up twice. His record in this or lower grades last term was 411384224, the last 4 of those runs all at this track.
The first 2 of his runs here were over a furlong further and, watching the races back, that last furlong might just have scuppered his chances. Back at this trip, he ran an absolute cracker in 2nd off this mark and was put up 1lb for his next and last run, where he was given a poor ride, having too much use made of him and keeping wide all the way round. It was to his credit that he plugged on for 4th.
He’s dropped 1lb for this run and has the assistance of the champ Oisin Murphy. That’s certainly an eyecatching jockey booking, made even more eyecatching by the fact this yard has had 2 winners and 2 seconds from 31 runs since racing returned, with Murphy riding one of the winners and one of the seconds from just 6 rides. Add to that the fact they were his only 2 rides for the yard on horses going off in single figures, it seems that Murphy on a fancied Williams horse is something to look out for.
