Indian Premier League 2017 – Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders Betting Preview

There is another double header in the Indian Premier League on Sunday and it begins in Bangalore as the Royal Challengers Bangalore conclude their home campaign when they entertain the Kolkata Knight Riders.

This will be the final match here until the eliminator and with Bangalore having only won one match in front of their own crowd so far they will be desperate to go out with a bang. Kolkata Knight Riders can solidify their place in the playoffs with a win of their own.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

A wretched season for the Royal Challengers has been unable to stop getting worse all season and they probably produced their worst effort in their last match against the Kings XI Punjab. The issue that Bangalore have now is that they have tried to be defensive and build innings and tried to play with intent and nothing is working.

One area where Bangalore have shown signs of life has been with the ball where they have bowled with credit but even that hasn’t really done them much good. You would think they need to bowl well in this match because Kolkata are decent with the bat. They will also have to put the misery of being shelled out for 49 in the reverse match to one side.

Kolkata Knight Riders

The Kolkata Knight Riders head into this match off the back of successive defeats and that is a run they will be looking to stop before it gets out of hand. We’ve seen in this tournament already that losing runs can mount up to something significant unless they are nipped in the bud before they get out of control.

If they are going to get things back on track then they will need their batting to deliver the goods here as in the last couple of matches they haven’t quite been on top form with the bat and their bowling has already had an element of the potential to be carted about it and that has been the case recently.

Team News

We are down to complete guess mode when it comes to working out Bangalore’s team for any match. It is hard to see Shane Watson playing again though after his poor effort the other night so Travis Head could be in for him.

Kolkata Knight Riders hope to have Robin Uthappa back for this one and there is talk that Chris Lynn could come back into the side too. Nathan Coulter-Nile faces a fitness test after being sconned in the last match.

Betting

I find it hard to go past the Kolkata Knight Riders in this match. They have lost their last two which isn’t ideal by any means but at least they’ve been beaten by two good sides who were playing well at the time. They meet the opposite of that here.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have been abject for much of the campaign and with each match they play, especially here on their home ground, they look to be getting worse and it was hard to believe that was possible. Given Kolkata won easily in the reverse meeting which may well have left psychological scars I’m with the visitors here.
