As with all Sunday’s in the regular season stage of the Indian Premier League there is a double header to enjoy from the tournament on Sunday with the opening match being a clash of two sides in precarious positions in the league table.
Mumbai Indians play their first match in a while when they host the Sunrisers Hyderabad and with both teams going into the match on 10pts in the table there is the chance for one to steal a real march on the other.
Mumbai Indians
As has been said for a while now this is fast becoming another typical Mumbai Indians season in that they started slowly but are picking up speed and will be aiming to finish strongly heading into the playoffs.
Mumbai have won their last three matches and with Kieron Pollard finally starting to tune up the Indians look in a good spot heading into the final stage of the season. Their bowling attack is beginning to deliver the goods as well.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
It isn’t like the Sunrisers aren’t in good form themselves though. Like their opponents here they had a poor start to the season but they have recovered nicely and a win here would have them looking very good for a spot in the playoffs.
Dave Warner continues to lead with the bat but he is getting a lot more support these days however the way this side is set up they will often win more matches with their bowlers than their batsmen and so the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mustafizur Rahman are pivotal to their chances.
Team news
It is unlikely now they have found a winning combination that Mumbai are going to change it which means that Corey Anderson is set to remain on the sidelines especially with Kieron Pollard getting better by the game.
Sunrisers Hyderabad are unlikely to make any changes to a side which won last time out. Yuvraj Singh looked rusty in the last match but that was his first game of the season so you would expect him to come on for the run although he will need to.

Head to head: Mumbai Indians 5-2 Sunrisers Hyderabad
In Visakhapatnam: First meeting
Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium
This is the first match at Visakhapatnam this season. Of course the Mumbai Indians are used to playing their home matches at Wankhede but that ground is out of use now so they have relocated to here for the rest of the tournament.
Funnily enough the Sunrisers used this ground as a home venue for three matches last season where the scores were in the mid-range and the boundary count was fairly regular. There was no specific bias to a particular type of bowler in those matches although it is eye catching to see JP Duminy took a four wicket haul in one of the matches so it might turn.
Betting
This match definitely takes on a different dimension with the change of venue and I think I favour the Sunrisers here now. I probably wouldn’t have got involved in the match betting at Wankhede as we know the ground is so hard to defend but that shouldn’t be the case here and even if it is we know the Sunrisers are quality at the death.
I like the balance of the Sunrisers Hyderabad side now and with a bowling attack that is getting better and better and a batting line up which should be much more reliable now there isn’t really a weakness in their ranks.
I still wonder if Mumbai’s bowling attack is as good as the results suggest. We might find out here but Sunrisers have already given Mumbai one towelling this season and while this one might not be as emphatic I do think the visitors can complete the double.
