The Indian Premier League continues on Tuesday when the Kings XI Punjab will look to continue their recent revival when they take on the Delhi Capitals in what looks to be an appealing match up in Dubai.
Successive wins have seen the Kings XI move up to sixth in the table and they can move further up the league with a victory here. Delhi Capitals are top of the pile and they’ll be the first team confirmed in the postseason if they win here.
Kings XI Punjab
It has taken a while but the Kings XI Punjab look to be finding their best form. They will argue that they were unfortunate not to have a couple more wins to their name anyway having blown some incredible winning positions earlier in the campaign. They looked like a side who had forgotten how to win during that period and after threatening to throw away the match in the first win in this two game winning burst it nearly haunted them again but they came good and then build on it.
There is no doubt that the presence of Chris Gayle has given something to the Kings XI side and what that has done is taken some of the pressure off of the bowlers who have responded in kind with a couple of good performances. All of a sudden the Kings XI are beginning to hold their nerve and with a top four that is more powerful than most in the competition they are becoming to come to the boil nicely. This is a big test of their credentials though.
Delhi Capitals
The Delhi Capitals will remember that one of the matches the Kings XI coughed up was their opening game which the Capitals won in a super over. They will be hoping to win this one a little more convincingly but as long as they win they will book their place in the postseason which was the initial aim when the season started. If they can do that with four matches remaining then they can start playing around and making sure everyone is in form ahead of the finals.
The big reason why the Capitals are where they are in the table is the strength and the quality of their bowling attack. If anything that unit is only getting more fearsome with the insane heat that Amrich Nortje is providing. They have a couple of very good spinners and the leading wicket taker by far in the tournament in Kagiso Rabada. They are as good as they are because the batting order hasn’t had them under pressure too often.

Key Men
If the Kings XI are going to win this match then they have to get off to a decent start with the bat because once you start losing wickets against the Capitals there tends to be no way back. That means the captain KL Rahul will need to continue his good form.
On the flip side of that if the Delhi Capitals can take early wickets they will go a long way to winning the game so the new ball spell of Kagiso Rabada could be crucial. If he can get through KL Rahul and Chris Gayle the Capitals will be well on top.
Betting
I’ve been avoiding the boundaries in terms of the over recently but I’m going to get back on the train here because there are suddenly lots of them in Kings XI Punjab matches. One of the reasons for that is the emergence of Chris Gayle. He has been proving the point he has had to prove and if he gets himself in then that is going to continue here but basically there are a lot of boundaries in the top four of these two sides.
Kings XI will have their work cut out against this Delhi bowling attack but if anyone is going to get going against it then it will be arguably the best top three in the competition at the minute. Delhi could have Rishabh Pant back for this one which will bring two boundary hitters back into the side as Shimron Hetmyer can also return and although the Delhi bowling is legit I still think the boundaries will flow here. There were 37 boundaries when these two met here in the reverse meeting but since then Chris Gayle has come to the party and the rust has gone off the two sides. I like over 38.5 here.
