The Metro Bank One Day Cup continues on Friday after a day off on Thursday as we reach the halfway point of the two groups for most of the teams in action as six more matches take place across the country.
As has been the case so far in the tournament, The Hundred has the TV attention so if you want to watch any of these matches then you need to load up the live stream which is on offer from the home county.
Group A
There are three matches in each group on Friday with the pick of the games in Group A seeing the top two battling it out when an unbeaten record has to go when Derbyshire play host to Worcestershire. Derbyshire have three wins from three so far while Worcestershire have won both of their games so something has to give in that one. Somerset sit in third place in the table and they are in action under the Taunton lights when they go up against a Lancashire team who have lost their opening three matches and are probably out of contention already and certainly will be if they lose again. The other match sees Durham, with one win in their three matches, hosting a Northamptonshire side who have lost all three and probably can’t qualify from here.

Group B
The top two are both in action in Group B on Friday and both have home matches as they look to keep their unbeaten runs going. Glamorgan are top of the table on net run rate and they host a Sussex side who have lost their opening three games while Warwickshire in second take on the other winless team in Surrey with that match taking place in Rugby. The other game in this group comes from York where Yorkshire look to move into the top three when they host a Gloucestershire side who got off the mark last time out and need to keep winning to get their campaign fully back on track.
Betting
I like a couple of bets over the course of Friday with the first of them coming up at Derby where Derbyshire can continue their unbeaten start to the competition when they host a Worcestershire side who have done well to win their opening two matches but who at the same time look so weak with the ball that I can’t believe that is going to remain the case for too much longer. Derbyshire have a very good bowling attack for this competition with Daryn Dupavillon a solid overseas option and Zak Chappell, Sam Conners, Pat Brown and Samit Patel completing a useful unit. Even without Ross Whiteley, Derbyshire look solid throughout the order with the bat and actually if you take that monster opening partnership against a Middlesex side who have gone around the park in all their matches so far out of the equation Worcestershire haven’t gone great with the bat. This feels like a good chance for a Derbyshire win.
Warwickshire are also three from three and I think they can make it four from four when they host Surrey in Rugby. Warwickshire won their first two matches with a fair bit to spare and while they fell over the line in their latest match, that was on a bit of a tricky pitch at Hove so that bodes well if this one in Rugby doesn’t play like a typical Edgbaston one would. Surrey have their three England internationals with the bat but none of them have really delivered much in this tournament so far but they have been decimated with the ball by injuries and call ups to The Hundred. Warwickshire have a solid top order and enough first choice bowling options to get the job done and I think they win this one.
