Metro Bank One Day Cup 2024 – Sunday 28th July Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The Metro Bank One Day Cup continues on Sunday where we have seven fixtures taking place on what is the busiest day of the 50 over competition so far and one where a number of counties will be looking to make something of a move.

Once again the Test match and The Hundred are hogging the TV schedule so if you have a bet or just want to watch any of these matches then you will need to locate the live stream offered up by the home county.

Group A

Derbyshire made it two wins from two in this group on Saturday and with them not in action four counties look to emulate them and they all face each other. Hampshire had a good win over Northamptonshire on Friday and they will look to get the better of Somerset who also won on Friday. The other two teams in this group who have wins to their name are Worcestershire and Durham and they meet at New Road. Lancashire and Kent both lost their first match so they will know they will be under huge pressure if they lose again when they meet in Blackpool.

Group B

Warwickshire lead the way with two wins from two in Group B and they will be looking to scoot further clear at the top when they go to Hove to take on a Sussex side who will be out to avoid successive defeats to start their 50 over campaign. Surrey are another team who won’t want to lose a second game in succession and they welcome Glamorgan to The Oval. Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire have both won their opening match of the competition and one of those will go two from two when they face off at Welbeck while the other match sees two more teams who were beaten in their opening game playing to kick their campaign into life as Gloucestershire play host to Essex.

Betting

There isn’t a whole lot that I like the look of on Sunday in terms of the match betting as I think the majority of the favourites are justified in being so and the ones that might not be have opponents that I’m not keen on getting involved in so I am going to have to go to the side markets for a bet on these matches and that comes in the total runs for the match between two sides who won their opening game in Worcestershire and Durham at New Road.

They didn’t just win their opening matches but they both piled up well over 300 runs in doing so and I think that is a trend which might continue because both teams have some really dominant batters at the top of the order who are in good form. The caveat to that is Durham have lost bowlers to the Hundred and Worcestershire are in a bit of a transition phase with the ball. This Durham batting unit looks as strong as anything in the competition but with Ben Raine rested their bowling looks hittable. In the recent T20 match between the two 190 played 168 and I think this is a high scoring game too. I like over 557.5 runs in this one.
