The midweek round of MLS matches continues on Wednesday night with five more fixtures as we head towards the break for the Gold Cup which begins on Friday out in America. These matches all kick off in the early hours of Thursday morning and there are some good stories among them.
The top three in the Eastern Conference are all in action over the course of the evening with a couple of the chasers in the pack in Western Conference looking to move nearer the top of the table.
Wednesday’s matches are as follows: (UK kick off time in brackets)
New England Revolution vs New York Red Bulls (00.30)
Orlando City vs Toronto FC (00.30)
Houston Dynamo vs Montreal Impact (01.30)
Vancouver Whitecaps vs New York City (03.00)
Portland Timbers vs Chicago Fire (03.30)

Big Matches
The real big match of the night comes from Providence Park as the Portland Timbers host the leaders of the Eastern Conference in Chicago Fire while second placed Toronto FC go up against Orlando City.
Best of the Rest
There is an all-Eastern Conference battle between the New England Revolution and New York Red Bulls while Houston Dynamo and New York City will look to close in on the leaders of their respective conferences when they take on Montreal Impact and Vancouver Whitecaps respectively.
Betting
I am going with just the one bet for these matches and it comes in Houston where I fancy a few goals between the Houston Dynamo and the Montreal Impact. It isn’t ideal that Houston have a few players on international duty but that is why I am going with goals here rather than a Dynamo win.
Montreal are poor on the road and leak goals at a crazy rate while Houston are little better at the back. With a two week break coming up I expect both sides to have a go here. We saw plenty of that in high scoring matches on Tuesday night and this has the potential to be equally as high scoring.
