The Major League Soccer weekend concludes with two more fascinating match ups on Sunday night as four big sides come out and look to enhance their title credentials as we continue to head towards the mid-season break.
We have the champions Atlanta United n show on Sunday night and a couple of teams who could well be the ones to dethrone them on what should be a very good evening of football. Both matches are live on TV so we have no reason to miss any of the action.
Atlanta United vs Orlando City FC (19.30)
The first match of the night sees the defending champions Atlanta United taking on an Orlando City FC who have been underachieving for too long in their short life in MLS already in an all-Eastern Conference match up.
Atlanta will be looking for a fourth straight win in MLS in this match and you would have to suggest they have found a decent opponent to achieve it against with consistency not one of the strong points of this Orlando side. They are not the best travellers either so I expect Atlanta United to win here but in recent times they have been all about securing the points rather than running up the score which would have been their intention last season so there is no guarantee of any more than a push on the Asian lines. I’ll sit this out because of that.

DC United vs Sporting Kansas City (00.00)
The second match of the evening sees two sides who could easily meet in the MLS Cup final later in the campaign doing battle when DC United take on Sporting Kansas City at Audi Field in a clash in which both sides will be eager for the points.
After looking imperious in the first five or six matches, DC United have had to ride a rough spell but they have come out on the other side of that now and will be looking to kick on now while Sporting Kansas City will be looking to turn their form round after going five matches without a win, although that isn’t going to be easy for them given that they are on the road here.
One of the big problems that Sporting Kansas City are having is keeping the ball out of the back of their net. They have shipped 11 goals in their last three matches and that is not good here because DC United don’t tend to concede many. DC have only conceded 11 in 11 matches and four of them went in one crazy performance against LAFC. Generally DC don’t concede many and are full of goals at home. SKC are leaking them so this looks like a home win to me.
