There is a busy night in the MLS on Sunday evening as the majority of the teams in Major League Soccer are in action on what has the feeling of being a pivotal 90 minutes in the season of so many sides at this stage.

Big Matches
The TV action comes from the Eastern Conference on Sunday with the first of those coming from Red Bull Arena as the New York Red Bulls look to build on their much needed midweek win over Inter Miami when they host former player Thierry Henry and his Montreal Impact side. The second of the two televised matches sees the Philadelphia Union looking to keep up the chase on Columbus Crew at the top of the Eastern Conference when they host the aforementioned Inter Miami in a match they’ll be expected to win.
Best of the Rest
Two of the best in the Eastern Conference meet when Toronto FC play a home match against Columbus Crew although given that Canada is out of action that is at a neutral venue. Orlando City will look to continue their fine form when they make the trip to FC Dallas while the remainder of the big matches come in the Western Conference. Seattle Sounders will be looking to keep hold of top spot when they make the trip to take on LA Galaxy while the Portland Timbers in second face Cascadia Cup rivals Vancouver Whitecaps in a match which will actually be at the Timbers home ground as that is where the Whitecaps are playing their remaining home games. There should be an entertaining in store when Los Angeles FC host San Jose Earthquakes.
Betting
We’ll go with just the one bet over the course of the evening. There were one or two others I was considering but the lines are slightly higher than I would have so in the end I’ve decided to go with just the one which is to take advantage of the monster price that is on offer on Philadelphia Union to beat Inter Miami without the draw in play. It is still unclear whether all the relevant paperwork for Gonzalo Higuain to play will be completed in time for this match but I’d still favour the Union even if he is around.
Philadelphia are very strong at home whereas Miami aren’t the best travellers at the minute. Their only win on the road as an MLS franchise came at Atlanta United recently but that isn’t really the strength of form it once was. Philadelphia are undefeated on home turf this season with the only team to leave there with so much as a point being Orlando City. Union have already beaten Inter Miami here earlier in the campaign and I’ve seen little since to suggest the scores are going to be reversed. Philadelphia have only lost one of their last nine – at Columbus Crew the best team in the league – while Miami have just humped at home by an average New York Red Bulls side. I can’t ignore the Union at this price.
