Preview
We might only have three matches on the card on Friday evening but they are three crackers to look forward to and they begin in the Big Apple where New York City FC play host to the champions Columbus Crew in a cracking looking clash. The second game of the evening comes from the Exploria Stadium where all eyes will be on Atlanta United to see if there has been any improvement in them at all since Gabriel Heinze was moved on. They face a tricky test away to Orlando City who have been one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference this term.
When they are all done we head to the Western Conference for what is always one of the showpiece matches of the regular season when the entertaining LA Galaxy side take on a Portland Timbers outfit who are always good to watch. The Galaxy are riding high this season and will be looking to consolidate that while the Timbers have lacked consistency but we know they can beat anyone on their day.
Betting
I’m not going to go too mad given the matches that are to come over the remainder of the weekend but there is one bet that I like the look of and that comes in the form of Orlando City to beat Atlanta United. The writing was on the wall for Gabriel Heinze from a pretty early stage and he was finally given the chop but I sense that he is only the start of Atlanta sorting out their problems. They still have other things to sort out and that won’t happen overnight.
It might not be the smartest move to back a side after they’ve just been gazumped 5-0 last time out but I’m pretty confident that was purely a bad day at the office and that they will be much more at it in this match. Being at home will certainly help them as they have only lost once at home all season. Usually when a team takes a good hiding they bounce back for the next match and even though there is no Daryl Dike for the hosts I still think they’ll get the job done here.
Tips
Back Orlando City to beat Atlanta United for a 3/10 stake at 1.80 with William Hill
