Big Matches

The televised action begins right from the outset as the New York Red Bulls host Orlando City in the Eastern Conference. The action continues in that Conference for the second match as the champions Columbus Crew host another leading light in the East in the form of Toronto FC. The remainder of the televised football comes from LA where Los Angeles FC play host to New York City FC in what looks like one of the better matches in the evening. The final televised game sees LA Galaxy hosting San Jose Earthquakes in the latest instalment of the Cali-Clasico.

Best of the Rest

Two out of form sides open the show on Saturday evening when Chicago Fire welcome CF Montreal to Soldier Field. New England Revolution will then look to maintain their lead at the top of the table when they go to FC Cincinnati who will be looking to build on their fine win over Montreal last week. Atlanta United and Nashville SC have only lost one match between them this season and they meet at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium while the Eastern Conference action concludes with Inter Miami, reeling after the sanctions against them earlier in the week, hosting a DC United side who are better than their position suggests. The last three matches come from the Western Conference where Sporting Kansas City will look to close the gap between themselves and Seattle Sounders at the top. They host Houston Dynamo before Colorado Rapids meet FC Dallas and Real Salt Lake host Minnesota United.

Betting

I’ll go with the one bet over the course of the evening on Saturday. It comes from one of the later matches where Sporting Kansas City play host to Houston Dynamo in a match which sees two of the current top four in the Western Conference going at it. I like Kansas City here. Much of the Dynamo success this season has come on their own patch, including a 1-0 win over Sporting Kansas City earlier this term, but even then that was a match the SKC side largely dominated.

Kansas City have only played three home matches this season and are unbeaten in them with only Orlando City taking a point away and I expect that record to remain intact here. Sporting KC have so many attacking options at their disposal and most importantly of all they have Tim Melia back between the sticks so you sense that the hosts are only going to go from strength to strength here. Houston don’t inspire me nearly as much on the road as they do at home so I’m expecting a comfortable Sporting Kansas City win here.
