The remainder of the matches in this latest MLS weekend take place on Sunday evening as five more fixtures across the two Conferences take place on a night where the two sides who met for the MLS Cup last season are in action as well as a number of possible title contenders this term.
Among the five matches over the course of Sunday evening and into the early hours of Monday morning we have four live on the two UK TV channels which cover this division. The other match, as all five are, is available on the bookmaker streams so all the action is on offer to us.
Sunday’s fixtures are as follows: (UK kick off and TV in brackets)
Sporting Kansas City vs Vancouver Whitecaps (19.00)
FC Cincinnati vs Inter Miami (21.00 – Sky Football)
New England Revolution vs Columbus Crew (23.00 – Free Sports)
DC United vs Orlando City (01.00 – Free Sports)
Seattle Sounders vs Los Angeles FC (02.30 – Free Sports)

Preview
The night is bookended by clashes in the Western Conference and it begins with the only match not on show on UK TV when the entertaining Sporting Kansas City take on the Vancouver Whitecaps. The TV action begins in the Eastern Conference where Phil Neville will look to pick up a second win of the season when he takes his Inter Miami side to face FC Cincinnati, one of just two sides in MLS who are yet to win a game this term.
The first of the big matches in the evening is the third game of the night where the champions Columbus Crew head to the team they beat in the Eastern Conference title showdown last term in New England Revolution. Once they are done we go off to the capital where DC United look to follow up their Thursday night win when they entertain Orlando City. The other eye catching match on the card sees the Seattle Sounders hosting Los Angeles FC.
Betting
I’ll take a couple of bets in the five matches on Sunday evening with the first of them coming from Gillette Stadium where New England Revolution meet the champions Columbus Crew in a match I expect to be quite a tight game. Their Eastern Conference final was a tight and tense affair last term and generally matches between the two are. The last four have had two goals or less in them and with the Crew struggling for goals a little at the minute I’m not convinced this will be any different. The champions have only scored in one of their four matches this season, which was against a DC side who are terrible on the road and will be missing key attacking talents Kevin Molino and Pedro Santos here. The Revs are never the most free scoring side particularly against good defensive sides and with both coaches shrewd enough to keep Lucas Zelarayan and Carles Gil well patrolled, I don’t think we’ll see more than 2.75 goals here.
The other bet I like over the course of the night comes in the final game where I’m very surprised that we can get Seattle Sounders on a -0.25 line given the way they have started the season. They have been on fire this term, with their only dropped points coming against LAFC in a match they gave as good as they got. LAFC beat the new boys Austin FC to start the season but haven’t won since then and they looked a little ordinary without Carlos Vela against the Galaxy last weekend. He is expected to miss out here too which isn’t ideal for Bob Bradley’s side. Seattle have played two matches at Lumen Field this season and come away with 4-0 and 3-0 wins. They are in much better shape than LAFC even without their talismanic creator Nico Lodeiro. I expect a home win here.
