Big Matches

The televised action begins in Canada where football fans in that part of the world are also celebrating making it through to the World Cup. Toronto FC will be hoping to be buoyed by that when they host the champions New York City FC before the team NYCFC took the MLS Cup from are on show when Columbus Crew host Nashville SC. The last of the TV matches comes from the Eastern Conference where the Supporters’ Shield holders New England Revolution take on the New York Red Bulls in an appealing match.

Best of the Rest

The Philadelphia Union are currently on top of the Eastern Conference table and they will host the new boys Charlotte FC on Saturday night while Los Angeles FC will look to extend their lead at the top of the Western Conference when they head across America to take on Orlando City FC. Chicago Fire are one of the undefeated teams left in the competition and they open up the night when they welcome FC Dallas to Soldier Field while the only other unbeaten team, Minnesota United, host Seattle Sounders in one of the better looking matches away from the UK TV cameras. Two of the weaker sides meet when Inter Miami host Houston Dynamo and a sleeper for the pick of the matches on the night is the one between DC United and Atlanta United.

Betting

I’ll take one bet as we re-establish who is where in their campaign after the international break. In many ways the season starts now for these teams because there isn’t another stoppage in play for well over two months so the early meat of the campaign is about to begin. The match I like comes in the game between DC United and Atlanta United where I expect the trend of goals when the two meet to continue at Audi Field.

DC United are a very offensive side on their own patch and while Atlanta United are gearing up nicely going forward there is still a bit of a weakness in them defensively which CF Montreal exposed last time out so I’m expecting this to be a match which both teams think they can win. Both have had an acceptable start to the season but what would make it a special one is winning here so we should get both teams going on the attack and should that be the case I think over 2.5 goals is a good bet here.

Tips

Back DC United to beat Atlanta United for a 3/10 stake at 1.93 with Bet365
