The best is saved for last in the NFL on Sunday as one of the most mouth-watering clashes of the season so far makes up the Sunday Night Football when the Kansas City Chiefs take their undefeated record on the road to face the New England Patriots.
The Patriots have picked up successive big wins to move to 3-2 for the season but it is the Kansas City Chiefs who lead the way in the AFC with their perfect 5-0 record and a win here would make a huge statement with the postseason in mind.

New England Patriots
After an up and down start to the season the New England Patriots have found a couple of high scoring wins and they go into this match off the back of the long week having featured in the Thursday night game against the Indianapolis Colts last time out. This is also their third home match in a row so the scheduling has been quite kind to the Patriots heading into this one.
The concern for the Patriots heading into this match is the amount of territory, and worst still points, they have given up so far this season. They now go up against one of the best offenses that has been assembled this season so their defence is going to be heavily tested in this one. That will therefore put pressure on their offense to keep up their recent efforts.
Kansas City Chiefs
The highlight of the season so far has been the form of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and all eyes will be on him in this match to see if he can deliver the goods on primetime against one of the best sides in the NFL. If he can then the Chiefs truly are the real deal but they got to this same position last year and then had a blip so the warning signal is there for them in terms of getting too carried away.
The obvious weakness of the Kansas City Chiefs is their defence. That was going to be a weakness whatever happened given the strength of their offense but injuries are ruining it and they are struggling in that area as a result. Against a very strong opposition offense in this match they will need to find some players to make plays.

Betting
I’ll go with a couple of bets in this match. I wouldn’t normally take a total touchdowns line of 6.5 at skinny odds but I’m confident this is going to turn into an offensive shootout and even at a skinnier price it is the better alternative to a massive points line. We know all about the Kansas City offense this season. It has firecrackers everywhere you look and New England are just warming up offensively themselves. This should be a great game and one of the reasons for that is because it should have at least seven touchdowns.
One man who should enjoy a decent evening is Travis Kelce. New England had a tough time of it controlling Eric Ebron of the Indianapolis Colts last week and Kelce is on a different level to him. He has received for 100+ yards in three of the first five matches and 78 in another so I fancy him to cover a 78.5 yard line against a weak secondary. He remains one of Mahomes’ favourite options and I think he’ll go beyond the 78.5 yards here.
