It is the best night of the NFL season on Sunday evening when the two Conference Championship matches are played out with the winners of each heading to Atlanta in two weeks to compete in the Super Bowl.
The evening kicks off with the NFC clash which sees the top seeded New Orleans Saints playing host to the Los Angeles Rams in what is set up to be a fantastic finish to this Conference, between two truly top class sides.
New Orleans Saints
You have to say it looked a little bit hairy for the New Orleans Saints last week when Philadelphia Eagles led them 14-0 and were driving hard on them once again. They made a big defensive play at the right time though and the match switched from there, and another interception later in the contest ensured that while the Saints were not fluent, they made it into this Championship showdown.
Once again we saw the struggles of their offense and that has been a real trend of the last few weeks. Given the quality of the teams left fighting this season, you would think if they are going to be crowned champions in a fortnight, they have to find their offensive best at some point. The positive is their defence is making big plays when they need them to.
Los Angeles Rams
It was a wonderful regular season campaign for the Los Angeles Rams and now we are going to find out what this relatively young side is truly made of. There is no doubt that the Rams have every box needed to be Super Bowl winners ticked. They have a top notch running game, a quarterback who can deliver clutch passes and a pass rush that will scare any quarterback and offensive line.
I think it is pretty clear how the Rams are going to go about their work in this match. They are going to pound it on the ground throughout but that might work to the advantage of their passing game as there should be a lot of space in the backfield to exploit. If their defence stands up to the significant challenge then the Rams are going to take all the beating here in my eyes.

Betting
The general consensus is that you can’t go to New Orleans and win but I think the Los Angeles Rams are going to prove that notion to be false. I think they have everything needed to win a playoff match on the road. They can keep the Saints offense off the field with their amazing running game and if they get in front they can release some of the best pass rushers in the game to go and win the match for them.
This New Orleans Saints offense has worried me for a few weeks now. I’ve mentioned it on a number of occasions and nothing has changed in that regard. The Rams were beaten here in the regular season but I think they will have learnt from that and put in place what was needed to turn that result around. I’m with the Rams here.
Given that I think the Rams will win the match it stands to reason that Todd Gurley can go past 65.5 rushing yards in the match. He has already rushed for 68 yards against the Saints this year in a match the Rams lost quite comfortably so if they are running the clock down from in front he should add quite a few yards onto that. He didn’t see too much of the ball last week but averaged seven yards per carry. I would imagine he’ll carry it 20 times here so he would only need half that yards per carry. This line looks far too low to me.
