NFL 2018 – Week 7 Sunday Early Games Betting Preview

After the Wembley match has concluded the rest of the NFL Sunday early games will take place up and down America and that means there is plenty more action to enjoy and to get stuck into from a betting point of view.

There are 10 matches across the two usual Sunday kick off times over in America and we have the usual mix of divisional battles combined with some juicy looking clashes, two of which are live on TV for those of us in the UK.

1pm Kick Offs (6pm UK time)

The TV game in the first set of matches comes from the MetLife Stadium where the New York Jets play host to the Minnesota Vikings in a cross-Conference match up. That should be a good game while divisional rivalries are on show when the Jacksonville Jaguars host the Houston Texans.

Away from the divisional battles there is a tasty looking clash at Soldier Field where Khalil Mack and his Chicago Bears will look to take it to the New England Patriots while the Indianapolis Colts go up against the Buffalo Bills. Miami Dolphins take on the Detroit Lions while the champions are at home ahead of their trip to London next week as the Philadelphia Eagles play host to the Carolina Panthers. The other match in this set of games sees the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosting the Cleveland Browns.

4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (9.05/9.25pm UK time)

There are three matches in this set of games with two of them being divisional battles. One of those makes up the TV offering as the Washington Redskins welcome the Dallas Cowboys to town while in the other same division clash the Los Angeles Rams take their undefeated record to the San Francisco 49ers. The other match among these kick off times comes from Baltimore as the Ravens welcome Drew Brees and his New Orleans Saints side.

Betting

Clearly it is not ideal that the Buffalo Bills have had to resort to Derek Anderson as their quarterback but I still think they can stay within a score of the Indianapolis Colts just purely on the strength of their defence. The Colts haven’t really got going this season and have leaked 80pts in their last two matches. At 1-5 they are under pressure to win but if their defence lets Anderson get comfortable this could get nasty for the Colts. Buffalo might be struggling on offense but they have only conceded 53pts in their last four matches. That defensive strength can keep them within seven.

The Chicago Bears are this season’s talking team with everyone talking up their chances but I expect those expectations to be dampened by the New England Patriots who look to be hitting their stride nicely. Khalil Mack looks like he is going to be limited in this match if he is even fit to play at all and that should give Tom Brady all the time he needs to find his receivers while a decent running game will keep the Bears pass rush honest. At some point this match may well come down to a battle between the quarterbacks and Brady is the only winner there. Patriots can get this done on a scratch line.

Dallas Cowboys had a big week against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week but they exploited a weakness in the Jaguars defence which just does not exist in the Washington Redskins’ one. Add into the mix that the Cowboys haven’t looked anything like as good on the road this season and I think the Texans outfit are wrongful favourites in this one. Washington are sneaking under the radar this season but they have a 3-2 record with home wins against Green Bay and Carolina. Their record might have been better had they not run into Drew Brees on his big night a few weeks ago. They look a more complete and reliable side to me and at odds against they are my pick.

Week 7 Accumulator

No joy last week so we are down to a profit of £44.70 for the season accumulators. There aren’t too many games to put together a decent accumulator this week but we’ve come up with a fivefold which pays nicely and can hopefully bump up that total accordingly. All teams are on the money line.

Minnesota win

New Orleans win

Philadelphia win

Tampa Bay win

LA Rams win

£10 pays £97.60
