The final match of a busy Sunday in the NFL comes in the form of the Sunday Night Football which this week happens to be massive as the Green Bay Packers host the Tennessee Titans in a match both teams will be eager to win.
The Packers have already seen the New Orleans Saints close the gap on them in the race for the number one seeding in the NFC while the Titans have seen the Indianapolis Colts lose so the Tennessee Titans can win the AFC South with a win here.
Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers could have secured the number one seed in this match had New Orleans Saints lost on Christmas Day but the Saints weren’t ready to hand Aaron Rodgers and his men that sort of gift on turkey day. The Packers will keep everything in their own destiny next week though with a win here and that is exactly what they will be looking to achieve. They know that if they win their two remaining matches and finish 13-3 they will be the number one seed from the NFC.
The Packers have won six of their last seven matches and have been pretty emphatic in all of them. The big positive for them in that spell is that their offense has shown good balance. They have won matches through the air with the quality of Aaron Rodgers and they have won them on the ground through Aaron Jones and others. Their defence has been doing enough in recent matches and that is never a bad combination at this time of year.

Tennessee Titans
Things have got pretty real for the Tennessee Titans who can not only secure the division title here but the home field advantage in the first week of the play-offs which comes with it. They almost have a free shot at it here because they face the Houston Texans next week who have had a horrible season. No team wants their destiny to go down to the final match if they can help it though so I’m expecting the Titans to give it everything they have got to win here.
The Titans also head into this match in pretty decent form with four wins from their last five matches with their offense in excellent touch having put up at least 30 points in each of those matches. Their defence has been a bit of an issue at times but if we think back 12 months we know that in single one-off matches the Tennessee Titans can formulate a gameplan and their team can execute it perfectly.
Betting
Given that snow is falling on the day of the game at Lambeau Field I was tempted to take the under in points but I’ve been burned by that having no impact on the Green Bay Packers offense in the past so I’m reluctant to get involved in it here with both defences having offered up some big point tallies recently. Instead I’ll focus on the weather but side with the rushing yards of Derrick Henry in order to come up with a winner in the snow.
His line here is 104.5 yards which feels on the low side anyway against a Packers side that Dalvin Cook showed a few weeks ago can be gashed by the run. This has been a big week for some elite running backs already and I expect Henry to add to that. He has over 100 yards in five of his last six matches with the one he didn’t make it to three figures coming in a weird game against the Cleveland Browns. Henry tends to hit top speed at this time of year and it looks like he is doing so again and I expect this bowling ball to cause plenty of havoc here. I’ll take the over.
