NFL 2021 – Buffalo Bills @ Tennessee Titans Tips and Betting Preview

Week 6 of the NFL season concludes with two of the better teams in the AFC battling it out in the Monday Night Football when the Buffalo Bills head to the Tennessee Titans as two playoff teams from last season meet in a good looking clash.

The Bills have picked up where they left off last season while the Titans have struggled a little bit more despite the fact that they are on top of the pile in the AFC South heading into this set of matches.

Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans head into the Monday Night Football with a 3-2 record for their season. That is decent enough but they will have been disappointed to drop a game against the New York Jets a couple of weeks ago. To be 3-2 with the injuries they have had on offense is a decent achievement. AJ Brown and Julio Jones haven’t been fit as a pair since the opening week of the season so the Titans have been going well enough when that is taken into account.

The big problem for the Titans this season has been their defence. They shipped 30 points in each of their first two matches and since then have conceded 27 to the New York Jets and 19 to the Jacksonville Jaguars, both of whom aren’t exactly flourishing on offense. Tennessee have got by because of the almost impossible to stop nature of Derrick Henry but eventually someone will slow him down and when that happens you do tend to fear for them at present.

Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills went all the way to the AFC Championship game last term and the early signs are that they are equipped to go at least that far this season, if not one more and make it to the Super Bowl. They go into this match with a 4-1 record. Their first three wins could be considered as benefits of a comfortable schedule but if anyone needed to see a statement performance, the Bills certainly delivered it last week when they motored past the Kansas City Chiefs.

You don’t very often get a team who are lighting it up on both sides of the ball but the Buffalo Bills certainly are at the minute. They have put up an emphatic 156 points on their opponents in the last four weeks and have only conceded 41. One reason for that is they are able to rotate players on their defensive line snap by snap without weakening it at all. The other reason is that Josh Allen is playing as well as he has ever done, both in the passing game and his own mobility which is opening the playbook up even more.

Betting

I get that there could be a bit of a comedown for the Buffalo Bills and if this match was your bang average Sunday daytime game then I probably would have left them alone but the extra day to come down and get back up again and the primetime lights on them should be enough to inspire them into another solid display and so I expect the Bills to come away with a pretty comfortable win here because I don’t see the Titans scoring enough points on them.

Tennessee are effective in the second half of matches because Derrick Henry wears teams down but the Bills make enough changes on the defensive line to keep players fresh and not only will that help them tackle the superstar running back but it will keep them honest in chasing down sacks on Ryan Tannehill. You get the feeling for the Titans to stay close here they are going to need to get involved in a shootout and I don’t see the Bills’ D giving up enough points for that to happen.
