The best might definitely be saved for last in the NFL 2023 on Sunday this week as the Sunday Night Football sees two of the most explosive offenses up against each other when the Philadelphia Eagles host the Miami Dolphins.
This could very well be the Super Bowl at the end of the season given that both teams have made a 5-1 start to the campaign and are well placed in their respective Conferences. We should be in for a cracking contest here.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles are an impressive force at the minute having made it to the Super Bowl last season and beginning this term very well too but they had their wings clipped last week when they lost their unbeaten record to the New York Jets. That was very much a surprise result but they couldn’t get on top of a decent defence and then made a couple of errors under pressure which we don’t usually link them to and in the end they were beaten.
That will surely fuel their fire for this match. They will be confident of winning on home soil anyway and on primetime they will want to give of their best. The Philadelphia offense will probably want to show more of what it is about here. It will probably need to as well because the defence is likely to be under a good deal of pressure from this Miami side. This does look like it could be a shootout though so any defensive plays the Eagles can make could be significant.

Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins have improved into one of the best teams in the league and head to Philadelphia with a 5-1 record, their sole blemish coming against the Buffalo Bills who were pretty rampant on that occasion. That aside, Miami have looked the real deal with their offense reminding us of the potent Kansas City Chiefs one of a few seasons back when they had Tyreeq Hill at their disposal. Containing them is much easier said than done.
On the flip side of that, there is a feeling that you can get at this Dolphins outfit. They have already conceded 34 points to the Los Angeles Chargers and 48 to the Buffalo Bills this term and they are both powerful offenses like the one they face here. That means that the offense is going to need to keep up with the Eagles but you get the feeling that is exactly the sort of contest which gets the juices flowing within this Miami setup.
Betting
I don’t see how this doesn’t turn into a shootout. Both are so much better on offense than they are on defence and these two teams have the offensive players to burn the opposition up. Miami Dolphins have put up more than 30 points in four of their six matches so far and have both the passing game and the running game to do some damage, although the latter might be rendered null and void if the Eagles get into the lead.
Philadelphia aren’t much slower in the offensive situations and the mobility of Jalen Hurts at quarterback will keep this Dolphins defence on their heels. They weren’t great in the red zone last week but you do sense that was merely a blip so I’m expecting much more of the Philly offense which went 5-0 prior to last week. The Eagles put up 25 points in four of those five matches and I’m expecting a very high scoring contest here. Over 51.5pts looks likely to land to me.
