The latest round of matches in the Premier League concludes on Sunday afternoon when three games rather than the scheduled four take place after Tottenham saw their match postponed because of their Covid-19 issues.
Two of the three matches form the Super Sunday programme on Sky and I would imagine that show will keep us well up to date on the other game on an afternoon where some of the lesser lights in the league get the TV spotlight.
Leicester City vs Newcastle United (14.00 – Sky Premier League)
The opening match of the two TV games on Saturday sees a Leicester City side who are heavily underachieving this season taking on a Newcastle United team who will be looking to back up their first win of the campaign and ease their immediate relegation concerns.
The Foxes were expected to be heavily involved in the race for the Champions League this season but their defensive inabilities have seen them flounder miles away from that. Defence has been a problem for Newcastle too and is one of the reasons why they are in relegation danger even allowing for the fact they are now one of the richest teams in the world. I wouldn’t have wanted to pick a winner of this match anyway with the form of the two sides but they fact they are both a mess defensively and have potency going forward makes me think over 3 goals will land here.

Burnley vs West Ham United (14.00)
The match which isn’t in front of the UK television cameras on Sunday afternoon comes from Turf Moor where Burnley will go in search of a win which will relieve some of their own relegation concerns when they take on a West Ham United who could pull a little further clear of the chasing pack in the hunt for fourth spot.
This isn’t an easy match to call because they are both physical and well-organised sides. West Ham probably have that little extra class in the attacking areas which might see them to a win but I wouldn’t be completely surprised if they cancel each other out and the draw is a large runner here. The positive for West Ham is that they didn’t play anyone significant in Europe on Thursday night so they should be fresh enough to do some damage here but the odds feel about right to me.
Crystal Palace vs Everton (16.30 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)
Two sides who are in the bottom half of the table round off the weekend when Crystal Palace play host to Everton in a match which sees two out of form sides having the chance to find something to take into this crazy hectic period of Premier League action.
This is a much improved Crystal Palace unit on what we’ve seen in recent seasons but three successive defeats mean they are in a familiar position in the league table so they will be eager to win here and improve on that. Everton snapped a run of eight matches without a win on Monday night but they weren’t the most convincing you’ll see. They do possess plenty of threat on the counter though so it might be that the style of these two sides blend nicely for an intriguing game. There isn’t enough form in either team for me to get involved though.
