Premier League 2021-22 – Sunday 13th March Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The Premier League weekend continues with a bumper Sunday of action this week when six of the scheduled 10 fixtures take place on another day that looks likely to be key in all areas of the league table come the end of the season.

Two of the six matches are live on TV for us in the UK to enjoy and hopefully the Super Sunday coverage will keep us up to date with the other four games but the usual ways of following them will apply throughout the afternoon.

Sunday’s fixtures are as follows: (2pm unless stated – UK TV in brackets)

Chelsea v Newcastle United (Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

Everton v Wolverhampton Wanderers

Leeds United v Norwich City

Southampton v Watford

West Ham United v Aston Villa

Arsenal v Leicester City (4.30pm – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

Preview

The televised action is centred round the capital as two of the top four in the country play host to sides. The first match on show sees troubled Chelsea looking to put everything that is going on off the pitch behind them when they take on Newcastle United in a battle of the unsavoury owners. When they are done Arsenal will look to move back into fourth spot in the table when they take on an underachieving Leicester City side who might be closing in on the point where they begin resting players to focus on their European campaign.

Three of the other four matches will see the relegation picture getting a little clearer. There is a huge match at Elland Road where Leeds United will take on Norwich City in a match neither will dare to lose while Watford are in a similar position when they head to Hampshire to take on Southampton. The other match that will affect the relegation picture comes from Goodison Park where Everton welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers. One other match takes place on the day and that comes from the London Stadium where West Ham United host Aston Villa.

Betting

Southampton suffered just their second home loss of the season in midweek when Newcastle ran off with all three points but I expect them to get back on track when they take on a Watford side who even with the influence of Roy Hodgson can’t seem to stem the flow of goals that are ending up in their net. Very much against the head Watford kept a clean sheet at Old Trafford but in the other three of their last four they have shipped a ridiculous 11 goals and when you consider they aren’t scoring many that is not a good combination.

Southampton have lost their last two matches but they have been against Aston Villa and Newcastle United, both of whom are in good form at present so I think we should let them off that rather than label them being on the beach or anything like that. Prior to those defeats Saints had won three of their last four and they have held Manchester City and Tottenham to draws at St Mary’s in recent times. They enjoy playing at home and I think they’ll enjoy playing there in this match too.
