Premier League 2021-22 – Sunday 24th April Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The Premier League weekend continues on Sunday with another four matches which are going to have a fair impact on both ends on the table on what can only be described as a pivotal day of the campaign.

Two of the four matches will be live on TV in the UK while the other two have all the usual ways and means of remaining up to date with including the TV coverage where goal updates are usually pretty frequent.

Sunday’s fixtures are as follows: (2pm unless stated – UK TV in brackets)

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Southampton

Burnley vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Chelsea vs West Ham United (Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

Liverpool vs Everton (4.30pm – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

Preview

The two televised matches are pretty big ones in their own right. They begin in London where West Ham United make the journey from east of the capital to west to take on a Chelsea side who will be looking to bounce back from their tame defeat in midweek. When they are done the Merseyside derby will take place with Liverpool looking to move to within a point of Manchester City at the top of the table while Everton will head to Anfield not just looking to stall Liverpool’s title and quadruple hopes but pick up valuable points in their quest for safety.

Burnley will be hoping to move above Everton in the race for survival when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers in the early kick off slot. They will move out of the bottom three if they avoid defeat and pile the pressure on the Toffees later in the afternoon. The other match sees two mid-table sides playing out their season when Brighton and Hove Albion will host Southampton with both teams looking to bounce back from defeats in midweek.

Betting

I’ll go with one over the course of the afternoon and that comes at Stamford Bridge where both Chelsea and West Ham United have issues defensively in terms of missing personnel and the way they have defended in recent matches so you would imagine there will be an intention to go on the offensive and look to score goals when the two London rivals meet. I’m not sure exactly how much there is on this match because Chelsea won’t finish outside the top four and West Ham won’t finish in it but that might only mean goals too.

Chelsea have conceded four in each of their last two home league matches while Real Madrid stuck three past them in the Champions League here too so you would expect West Ham to have scoring opportunities in this one but the Hammers are suffering from a shortage of centre-halves and that isn’t ideal against a Chelsea attack which is just beginning to find something once again. Given all of that we should see more than 2.5 goals here.
