Premier League 2021-22 – Tuesday 14th December Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

There is another round of midweek matches in the Premier League this week and they get underway on Tuesday evening when two rather than the originally three schedule fixtures take place on what might be an important evening at both ends of the table.

Both the matches are live on the TV for us to enjoy in the UK as we get taken back to the heart of the pandemic in terms of the coverage that is available so there is no need to miss out on any of the action across the evening.

Norwich City vs Aston Villa (19.45 – BT Sport 2)

The first match of the two to kick off on Tuesday evening comes from Carrow Road where Norwich City and their current boss Dean Smith host his former club Aston Villa in what feels like a big match for the home side.

Villa have one or two issues with Covid-19 at the minute and as you would expect Steven Gerrard has not declared who has tested positive so that immediately makes betting on this match pretty difficult. Norwich were probably better than the result they achieved against Manchester United at the weekend but their struggles to score goals came back to bite them. Assuming Villa aren’t without too many key players due to Covid you would expect them to have enough to win this but until we see the line ups and know for sure it is hard to get involved in this one.

Manchester City vs Leeds United (20.00 – BT Sport 3)

The second match of the night comes from the Etihad Stadium where Manchester City have the chance to move four points clear at the top of the table when they host a Leeds United side who are probably going to play into their hands somewhat.

We saw on Saturday that regardless of the circumstances and players available to him, Marcelo Bielsa is going to look to win the game. That is something that should be applauded in a day and age where strangling the life out of the game seems the more favoured way to go but it might leave Leeds heavily exposed against the best team in the league. Leeds’ best hope would be that Pep Guardiola would choose to rest a few with the schedule City have coming up but the likes of Kevin de Bruyne and Phil Foden were among the substitutes in the win over Wolves at the weekend so they might be unleashed here along with Riyad Mahrez so I’m not sure that is going to save the Yorkshire side. Unless Guardiola takes pity on a man who he has a lot of respect for in Bielsa, this could get away from Leeds. We did see at the weekend that Leeds do carry a goal threat though and that makes me think that however they come along we might well see over 3.5 goals here.
