The first midweek round of Premier League matches this month continues on Wednesday evening when six more fixtures take place up and down the country on what could be another big night of football at both ends of the table.
Once again all six matches are live on the Amazon Prime Video service but with them all taking place at the same time you’ll need a few devices to keep up with all of them. There is no reason not to be able to follow bets though which is a positive.
Wednesday’s fixtures are as follows: (7.30pm unless stated)
Southampton vs Leicester City
Watford vs Chelsea
West Ham United vs Brighton & Hove Albion
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Burnley
Aston Villa vs Manchester City (8.15pm)
Everton vs Liverpool (8.15pm)

The top four are all in action on Wednesday evening and it is the leaders Chelsea and fourth placed West Ham United who are the first to kick off. Chelsea make the relatively short trip to Vicarage Road to take on a Watford side whose matches seem to be high scoring at the minute while the Hammers host a Brighton and Hove Albion outfit who were surprisingly booed off after a stalemate with Leeds United at the weekend. The other two matches in the earlier kick off slot sees Wolverhampton Wanderers looking to extend their fine recent run of form when they host Burnley and Southampton welcoming Leicester City to the King Power Stadium.
The last two winners of the title are the main attractions in the second kick off slot on Wednesday evening. The attention will be on Goodison Park where the latest Merseyside derby takes place as Everton look to come out of their slump in form when they take on rivals Liverpool while the other match sees Jack Grealish potentially returning to Villa Park for the first time as Manchester City take on Aston Villa, who remain holders of a perfect start under Steven Gerrard.
Betting
Two bets jump out on this card to me on Wednesday evening with the first on Leicester City who will have good memories of their recent trips to St Mary’s Stadium and can build on that. The Foxes have had a very inconsistent campaign but there were signs in the win over Watford at the weekend that the influence of James Maddison is growing on this team and they are a better side when he is performing well. Southampton have probably played better than their results have suggested recently but they were terrible in the first half at Anfield on Saturday with Ralph Hasenhuttl admitting he got it wrong. There will be memories of that horror might where Southampton lost 9-0 to Leicester circling around this game and if Leicester start out well here the task might present itself as an easier one than it might otherwise have been.
The other bet comes at the London Stadium where I expect West Ham United to get back to winning ways. They go into this one having lost their last two matches but defeats away to Wolves and Manchester City are not cause for concern just yet for the Hammers. They don’t have a great record against Brighton and Hove Albion which might be a bigger reason for West Ham fans to worry here but Brighton are without a win in eight matches now and while them being booed off at the weekend was a load of nonsense, it does show that the beginning of a bit of restlessness is beginning to creep in on the south coast. Brighton are back to that side who are struggling to score goals at the minute only recently the number of chances have lessened too. It might be that one goal is enough for the Hammers here and they are good enough to get that. I like them in this one.
